GUILTY PLEASURE: Paris checks into jail early.

 "I’m really scared but I’m ready to do this."  Paris Hilton

 She has a reputation for showing up late to publicity events, but Paris Hilton showed up for jail two days early.  The socialite star began serving her 23 day sentence in L.A., trading in designer duds for an orange jumpsuit.  She will be isolated from the rest of the population but her stay will be far from a room at the Hilton.  The 3 week sentence resulted after Hilton was caught driving on a suspended license for the third time.

So Gather members... what do you think?  Do you give Paris credit for showing up early?  How do you think  she'll handle her sentence?  Are you sick of stories about Paris?  Let us know!

Orange really isn't her color. Has there been any photos yet of her actually in jail? No makeup, bad hair, etc? It would give me a nice laugh. Like Jenn said, hopefully it gives her a dose of reality. Personally, I think her public image has gotten better, not worse, by going to jail.

She will parlay this little vacation of hers into more publicity for her worthless life. Some money hungry publisher will offer her a few million for her story and experiences while in jail. The book will become a best seller and a movie will be made.

I, too, am sooooooooo tired of hearing about the ad/misadventures of this grossly spoiled kid who lives in this wealthy fantasy world where anything goes!

I'm also tired of hearing about her and her ilk. Now we get to look forward to all the news, entertainment shows, and tabloids talking about her non-stop until some other celebrity does something stupid to get the media's attention.

I hope we don't hear about her for at least 23 days but I doubt it. I think she is so spoiled but who knows how strong she is. I really hope this is a wake up call to her so in that way I am rooting for her.

I just wish I had bought one of those "Free Leona!" shirts in the '80s. I had a "Free Winona" one in the '90s... Free Paris!

What has Paris done for me that I should feel sorry for her? Well, she and her friends have been role models for my students and other teens. I will give her credit for doing something responsible, even though her crime was very irresponsible. I, however, agree with Juan Martinez and other people, she will not learn from this experience. She will find a way to make it work for her as soon as she's released to the flashing lights, after her twenty-three-day sentence. Personally, I think someone else may have drawn a longer stay in jail for the same offense.

Edward, a young girl must really have some self esteem issues if she picks a person like the no talent, no underwear wearing, sex tape making, drunk driving individual like Paris Hilton as a role model.

I heard on the noon news that she has already been offered a million for publishing her memoirs of her 23 day stay in the big house...what a joke...

I am turning 32, I can live with PARIS ... in the cell... She's a pirate got caught and BRAVE, that if fine .

It will be a worthwhile to accompany here there with a nice lithe breeze of fan and supple drinks, in this hot weather... it is like in the BEACH.

My conclusion in the end, She will get out there and will act like a good nun or model of our socities though elite...
She may have to receive a wreathe from coming from leaders and people of INDIA.
But I am more concern with her delicate pinkish flesh and almost non stop blinking wide and open eyes, what will happen next?...

She should have received the full three months the same as anyone else also in the general population so if she screws up her stay will be longer and she would be someones bitch for a little bit.

And what lesson is that Ricky P.? We can do any damn thing we want because in the end, no matter what it is we have done, no matter how big a gnat flying around the face of society we have been, we will be given special treatment??
