I have started a new group just for people who are looking for a more close-knit group -- a group of people who interact with each other directly. I call the group Chatabout Square. This group is limited to 20 people so that we have the opportunity to get to know each other.
To keep it limited, I have had to set the group up so that you have to be approved to join. So that the limited membership are people who know how to post more than recipes, jokes, and other copy/paste articles, I've asked that those who want to join answer a few questions that will become your introduction once you are approved. Plus, the introduction will show us all what we have in common and give us some things to talk about.
if there is enough interest, I plan on forming regional groups. The members of the regional groups -- living closer together -- may enjoy talking about local issues and may decide to get together from time to time. Gather is a wonderful place to meet people and connect on shared interests, but it would also be nice if we could meet each other in person.
