The easy way to earn points:

views: 280 | comments: 61

Connecting to people earns some points (probably when they accept your request).
Posting articles earns points.
Commenting on other people's articles earns points.
Having other people comment on your articles earns points.

Oh, don't forget:

Join groups.

Create groups that others join and post information/pictures to.

I don't feel that the point thing will become a major issue in my life. They accumulate much too slowly for me to consider relying on them to support any of my bad habits let alone the good ones. But I enjoy posting, and since I can't afford the bad habits, I might as well be spending my time here.

connecting to people does not give you points per say - it is the fact that you are more visible to that person and they may be more likely to view your stuff that brings the points. Inviting people to the site who have never been here earns points and using the send article to a friend feature gives points if that peson actually clicks the link to view the article. If they then join, it gives you points as well. If I see an article that will interest one of my non-gather friends, I use the e-mail to a friend feature and many have joined that way.

Hmm, I figured that perhaps there might have been a one point per connection when person accepts your request. It would take awhile to be noticed, except during the triple points week, when I made alot of connections. It's possible that my content generated my points, but I'm also inclined to think that some of the points earned, not yet realized, were from making many connections.

I am with arkay ... the points aren't an issue with me ... what counts for me is sharing thoughts, recipes, and pics with people who i hope are interested ... oh by the way I posted some new oics of my babies (cats) I finally got a good one of my calico! ... sorry shameless plug ... I just love my kitties tho and like sharing them.

I've been posting every day, my Daily Tips 4 U articles that take only a minute or two to read and I keep thinking people will comment but it generates very few comments. Wonder what I'm doing wrong. The tips are for health, wealth, diet, exercise, style, spiritual, and they are condensed.

Any suggestion as to how I can get people to comment.
BTW--anytime someone comments on any of my articles, I return the favor in kind and comment on theirs--I feel I can help them earn points as they are helping me.

I've been on since the end of August and it's taking me FOREVER to earn points. I try to comment everyday, but that's time consuming working full time with two small kids. I have a hard time getting comments too.
