With the summer sun and heat back and in full effect, I was wondering what everyone's favorite beaches were? Which place and which specific beaches do you recommend? Are they free? If not, what is the cost?
I've loved many beaches in my lifetime, but the one I keep dreaming about is no longer available to the public. It was a little place about two miles down a dirt road, north of Puerto Vallarta, called El Paraiso Escondido. It was bought by a Japanese firm and closed to the public many years ago, but it was and still is, my "happy place".
I love most beaches except the ones in New Jersey. My favorite was the beaches in Bermuda. The one I've been to most is Ocean City, Maryland, it is local, free and well maintained with a lot to do and has a fantastic boardwalk. Any beach in Florida just about is great. A new favorite to me since last year is Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Any beach along the shores of Lake Michigan. Most of the towns along the shore are still small and are rarely crowded: Frankfurt, Arcadia, Onekama etc.
My family and I love Wildwood, New Jersey! I love that the beach is so large that you are able to put your blanket basically whereever you want without having someone sitting on top of you.
