Last night, June 1. I was supposed to be in Minnesotagiving a talk and introducing my new book, CIRCLE OF MYSTERIES. But my husband’s health emergency kept me home. Dear friends from Minneapolis, Steve and Kathy, delivered the talk for me. Imagine a large room in an old brick building on the campus of the Collegeof St. Catherinein St. Paul:
Bless you for your presence here. I had every intention of looking into the eyes of each of you, and receiving from your hearts that openness and love that makes giving a talk such as this possible. Instead I am in Oregon with my dear husband, John, and we ask your prayers for his healing from lymphoma of the central nervous system which has suddenly returned.
And my dear friends, Kathy and Steve Callaghan, are with you there in Minnesota, reading words I wrote while thinking of all of you and sending you every grace that is in my heart. My promise was to explore with you the Mysteries of Light. This promise was occasioned by Theresa King’s publication of the third edition of my book CIRCLE OF MYSTERIES with a
new section on “The Mysteries of Light,” added to the Catholic rosary meditation by Pope John Paul II in 2002.
And how appropriate This Mystery of Light is included in a conference about Yoga in the World – because these mysteries are placed squarely there – in the world, in the public life of Jesus – as if to say HERE is where the mystery of Light is found, right here, in our daily lives, in each moment, each encounter, each practice we do to open ourselves, expanding consciousness – becoming more aware of who we are and how we each incarnate and manifest Divine Light.
We are what Divine Light becomes as it bursts through into matter and is manifest. Not just through us, but the entire universe—each blade of grass, the new green of springtime trees, the jewel of each Minnesota lake.
Gerard Manley Hopkins said it so well: “The world is charged with the grandeur of God – it will flame out like shining from shook foil…it will gather to a greatness like the ooze of oil, crushed.”
We are individual expressions of universal reality. Everything we do, think, feel, and realize is because of that participation…a circle of being, a circle of mysteries.
In the public Life of Jesus, these mysteries of light are summed up in
His baptism
The wedding at Cana
His public ministry of preaching, healing and conversion
His transfiguration before his disciples
The Last Supper Eucharist – a communion with all being, every person, God and human.
From meditation on these mysteries comes a powerful realization—it’s something we’ve been told in Christian scriptures, but can finally begin to live out in daily life. It is the awareness that not only Jesus, not only the holy ones, not only the saints and avatars and gurus, but we, ourselves, are the Light of the World.
Pope John Paul asked us to consider Divine Light at a moment of darkness in the history of our world. It was one year past 9-11, and we were deep into what we call the War on Terror. He must have been asking us to consider the paradox of Light in this material world.
“Light shines in darkness, and the darkness grasps it not” Darkness does not comprehend Light – cannot encircle it – cannot contain it – cannot imprison it – cannot dim it.
WE are the Light of the World – do not put that light under a bushel basket, Jesus said, but let it shine to all who are in the house…the world is our house in this life.
As I experienced these mysteries and wrote my experience, as I heard them in my heart over a period of three years, the world seemed quite dark. My own life also seemed dark. It was at that time that both my husband and my sister discovered they each had aggressive cancers—and I was living in the light of their faith and courage to heal, even while I was meditating upon and writing these mysteries.
Just two weeks before I was to give this talk my husband John’s cancer returned. Again I heard the summons to be the Light. A dear friend from St. Paul wrote to me, connecting this personal summons to CIRCLE OF MYSTERIES. “With this distressing news I see that "circle of mysteries" does not just refer to the rosary, is not just the title of a book. It's also this life, this earthly round.” And the words of a song by Delores Keane keep winding through my mind, the melody a wonderment, the paradox that is the essence of every “earthly round” amazing me with every inhalation and exhalation of breath: “Even on the darkest ocean (of illness and of violence and of war and of terror: ) You will be the Light.”
What happens in this prayer of the beads? I ask. And it comes to me that Light is connected to consciousness, and the quality of the Light is in direct correspondence to the level of consciousness I experience at a given moment.
Meditation on the mysteries takes the form of questions: Of what are we aware? What do we see?
The rosary is a prayer rising from consciousness of the most basic mysteries of existence. It makes use of chant to quiet the mind, and beads to ground the spirit. When I was young, a child, I didn’t know the purpose of the chants or the beads. I thought that a string of repetitious prayers was everything there was to know about the rosary – and I felt bored by it. In adulthood I thought I would be the least capable of all people to write a book on the rosary – I had no idea what the result would be. I undertook the task as an act of love. I’m still amazed!
In preparing to share with you tonight, I reflected on my experience of writing Circle of Mysteries, and especially the new Mysteries of Light, to try to demystify myself enough to explain how this prayer was revealed to me in the very writing itself. As I wrote I was aware of being in a state of meditation or focus – and that the locus of each voice had a distinctly different origin.
I heard three voices—Woman, Mother Wisdom, and Mary—each of which seemed to speak out of the core of each Mystery. Each voice spoke of Joy, Sorrow, Enlightenment, and Glory. And I wondered: What were these voices, really? Where did they come from?
I realized that each voice represented a center of consciousness – or an opening exactly corresponding to a state of awareness or a frequency of light. I began to suspect that each voice corresponds to one of the chakras – or a set of chakras. Another way of saying this is that each voice represents a form that reality takes, and this form can be accepted and understood according to which center of consciousness is most open in what I call “myself.”
The Woman’s voice seems to be centered in the Root through the Solar Plexus chakras. I hear her voice in what Sri Aurobindo calls “the Vital.” She wants to “know”. She is often troubled and afraid. She sometimes wishes she had control of life, and she yearns to understand how to make herself and the world better in some way—to bring peace and love and justice and compassion.
Mary’s voice seems centered in the Heart/Throat. Her voice also seems to represent what Sri Aurobindo calls the Super-conscient, or in Christian terms: Christ-consciousness. Hers is the incarnate being, humanity fully expressing the divine from which it originated. She speaks in stories, as she is fully grounded in earth and in our history.
Mother Wisdom’s voice seems centered in the Third eye and Crown chakras. Hers is an unselfconscious voice of compassion and love. She seems to speak TO the soul, like a divine breath. Like Ruah from the Hebrew Scriptures.
About the same time as I was thinking this through, I read a book titled, THE FIELD, by Lynn Taggart—a layman’s approach to the quantum physics of light and what is called the zero-point field. I’ve not much mind for science—but my intuition picked up bits and pieces—threads of meaning—and spun them into possibilities related to actual everyday life.
Both science and spirituality seem to conclude that we are light beings, afloat in an infinite field/sea of light. From my own perspective, the entire cosmos is afloat in and suffused with Divine Light, with each entity distinguished by a mere semi-permeable membrane. The openness of the centers of consciousness admit Divine Light in a particular frequency bringing with it a specific awareness of divinity in this Time/Space continuum. The light can awaken; it can heal; it can transform.
At about the same time I traveled to Minnesota to visit my sister who was going through her second round of chemotherapy for metastatic breast cancer. I’d become convinced that illness proceeded from a situation that blocked the flow of light, and I thought I knew the situation in my sister’s life when this had happened. I’m nine years older than she is, and the incident took place when she was just a baby, so she couldn’t remember it, but it could still be affecting her. If together we could become conscious – open to that moment that still existed in both of our beings (there is no time or space in light’s zero-point field) – we could clear the blockage and the flowing light would assist in healing her.
With the help of a music therapist Liz and I visited that moment in her life when, as a baby, she was in so much pain. We opened our hearts. We re-lived the moment (for every moment is always present), and I believe our focus helped transform the darkness of that pain into the light of healing. With the combination of this and other interventions Liz’s cancer went into remission.
Today I ask all of you to assist me in my present meditation, in this mystery of my husband, John’s, pain—his illness – lend us your consciousness that together we might open to a greater reality than what can be simply seen and touched and felt. I hope you will take a deep breath with us and open to the mystery of Divine Light, that together we might create a new reality of healing and wholeness.
A few weeks before John’s diagnosis, I walked around the circle drive in front of my house – bright sunlight – spring leaves gleaming in the light – I felt dark that day, though. I feared something—I didn’t know what it was, but it had brought me to tears.
So walking in the sunlight I began to visualize light traveling down through me from the crown along the spine, blocked at the root. By what?
I know if I am honest: It was the fear that nothing here is stable, that it will disintegrate, disappear, open up beneath my feet – that nothing can be relied upon. Is it true? Of course it’s true of matter. But the Light—the Light is constant. It shines in darkness. I pleaded with my own body—not just the flesh, but the consciousness in the physical—the consciousness of the cells, each of which contains a particle of light ---- Please, please open.
I prayed – I haven’t trusted earth. I haven’t trusted matter. I haven’t trusted this body. What would it mean to open to this consciousness? Why do I fear it? I wondered these things, as the voice of the woman in Circle of Mysteries wonders.
And it opened. I gasped. The whole world was present in that openness – the world in all its striving and its illness and war and its hope and its terror and despair. The whole world, not separate from me; opening with me so that I didn’t know which opening was me and which was the opening in the core of the world, as together we opened to the light.
I pray the openness lasts. I pray the same for each of you. Let us pray together for the world.

Also -- I'm sorry about the formatting problems in the article -- lack of spacings here and there -- I edited it three times, and it still isn't publishing correctly. So, I don't know what else to do but leave it with flaws. Probably appropriate, given the circumstances of my life right now when it seems that the flaws in reality are meant to teach me all sorts of things like hope and patience and understanding and compassion and ...
Loved the speech, my heart is saddened for the reasons which prevented you from delivering it yourself. I will continue to pray for You and John during these times of need.
Just a note, just the word mystery brings to mind the unknown but as with all things associated with God we are told if we seek we will find and I have to thank you for sharing your insightful search!
When I read your first post relating to John a few days ago, I did not have the proper words. Now with this second post I only have an inadequate few.
May the LIGHT of GOD 'rain' down on the both of you, John and you : the ONE of YOU. AS the ALLNESS and ONENESS of our miraculous and mysterious and awe filled UNIVERSAL LIVING-EVERNESS becomes bathed in the INFINITE LIGHT of ETERNITY we will collectively find, I believe, that indeed WE ALL ever 'reign' as integral with the MIND and HEART of OUR sometimes hidden human IMMORTALITY. ENTITYNESS existence is the expressed intent of our GODHEAD as I see universal INTENT. Thus TIME grows with LIGHT. and seeming DARKNESS.
I am becoming aware as LIGHT and DARKNESS 'build' my LIVING, GROWING CONSCIOUSNESS, that WE are ALL coming to know about safety within the dualistic INFINITE-ETERNAL, LIGHT-DARKNESS realm. 'SAFETY' seems to be nothing more than an enduring 'EVER-ISNESS'. An ETERNAL PRESENCE.
GOD BLESS you and John : each of YOU is an important contributor to the KNOWINGNESS entering into ALL of us seekers of the fullest understanding , the deepest meaning of our profound ONENESS.

When you speak of the ONENESS, I reflect on increasingly frequent experiences of that very thing -- of turning around and suddenly breathing with the Universe -- one breath in everything. No separation -- not even in light and darkness. And strangely, not even in good and evil which is difficult for me to articulate because I don't really understand it. Only tha the entire universe breathes as ONE -- so there can be no exclusion. Everything is everywhere in this Oneness. Yin/Yang maybe?
I probably could go on and on with this, always attempting a deeper dive into the mysteries. It's like Eliot says in his "Ash Wednesday" (I think...)
We must be still and still moving
Into a further union
A deeper communion
Christin
I am sending good thoughts and healing energy your way for both you and your husband.
U wishing you laughter and healing
Audrey, are we connected? Any friend of Julian Three is someone I'd want a connection with. I believe in the power of thought and healing energy -- to me it is all the same thing with prayer, and is part of that Light suffusing the Universe and erupting in our consciousness -- actually transforming our consciousness right down to each cell of our bodies. Thus, healing. Thanks for what you are doing.
Quinn, I've heard that laughter actually releases endorphins and other wonderful things into the body, and actually does heal. Your big smile will remind me to do the same--and when I smile, John smiles. Ergo: healing!
Also, I just want you to know that
"We must be still and still moving
Into a further union
A deeper communion" resonated strongly with me.
Peace and all good to you both.
John, I am aware that you know from personal experience much of what my own dear John is going through. You are an inspiration.
My prayers are for you and your husband tonight and throughout the days to come. May you find patience and extra energy, and may John find relief and an answer to what is ailing him.
Gentle hugs...be well.

"God is Light and in him there is no darkness at all." A paraphrase of the scriptures. So when I spoke of the mystic text, THE CLOUD OF UNKNOWING, I didn't mean that God has darkness. I meant that when we regard God with our limited "knowing," we find that we must "UN-know" in order to perceive that Light of Divinity.
Ooooooooh I believe. We create our fate; today determines tomorrow, and yesterday brought us to today. From one heart to another, through a third (J3); the wonders of this life are beyond explanation. Ooooh, I believe. Smiling at "destiny", I wish you and your loving husband all that I would wish on my daughters and all my loved ones. Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, Nam-myoho-renge-kyo.
Thinking about 'definitions' relating to a warm and meaningful concept of 'mysterious', and 'mystery' and 'mystical' , and employing the notion of 'secret' in a very expansive way, I suggest the following overlong and very imperfect start to gain insight about that most important concept -- the seeming 'bounding unknowns and unknown meanings' that relate ultimately to 'eternal-infinite meanings':
MYSTERY/SECRET = that which at this time, for each blessed given individual, is a temporarily unknowable and temporarily unknown (hidden from self ?) 'KNOWABLE'. I believe that God and our Universe have no secrets or hidden agendas, and ALL of us CHILDREN are being prepared for ever fuller understandings of the meanings of created and extant complexities. that go on 'shaping' us! ALL things and thoughts are designed by the GODHEAD to be, and to become, more fully knowable as a personal consciousness develops along with love and a feeling of ONENESS within and being embraced by a glorious ALLNESS. That's what human consciousness growth, through TIME, seems to be all about as our universal joys and sorrows, from events and reflections, come to enrich our livingnesses as we ever reach to become more god/goddess-like. GOD/GODDESS-LIKE!! Isomorphically! LIFE IS EVER UNFOLDING!

I should have commented on your comment sooner. Back in the early 1970s when I was an academic dean, I was asked to write a paper upon the issue of education in professional schools; specifically: business and law schools. I had been reading Fr. Chardin's works enthusiastically and diligently then, specifically BECAUSE I was so interested in the works of Whitehead. The issue of the divinity of GOD and PERSON was of concern to both of those GREAT persons.
While at the week long conference of deans, I ran into a fine Jesuit Priest who ran, as I recall, an organization related to labor, industry, and governments. Work therein was his chosen life long 'apostolate'. Before, during and after many meetings we deliberated with others, the needed education to make FINITE LIFE ON EARTH consistent with the seeming INFINITE-ETERNAL intent of our GODHEAD. DEEP STUFF! I had a mantra which I dumped into my contribution (via a prepared talk) : it had derived from my many , then recent, readings of the works and discussions with of my live friend Filmer Northrop, and my passed on mentors via their books -- Whitehead and Chardin, who I never knew personally.
The mantra was really a question. It simply noted something about the UNIVERSE-EARTH, and INFINITE-FINITE LINKAGE aspects of beingness and becomingness. Ever since I had been a teen-ager I had kept thinking: " I know there must be a certainty about the ultimate question (i.e. of the existence of GOD)". The mantra-like question I wrote about was that which had come out of a then recent past lifetime of working with Information Theory and Computer and Communications Technologies. Twenty years added to my war, College and High School years.
THE MANTRA : "If it takes that which we refer to as 'INTELLIGENCE' accompanied by finite skills, to conceive and build a computer, mustn't it take 'INTELLIGENCE' to conceive MY (and your) BRAIN and CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM? As a Engineer then (which I was by training) must I must I come to know something about THAT BRAIN and CNS construction PROCESS? As you know, in my GATHER.COM writings, I have begun to indirectly refer to GOD as a C.U.P., a CREATING UNIVERSAL PROCESS. I haven't changed much in the nearly forty years since that time. NOTE: creatING !
The Jesuit Priest that I had met at the conference knew what this question implied. I'm not so sure about many of my more pragmatic colleagues. But he said to me "Dick, you must know what the implications of this idea implies! It is about SOPHISTICATED INTELLIGENT DESIGN concepts, and the modern day arguments startingto develop in this pragmatic WORLD of ours about GOD and CREATIONISM and EVOLUTION. The suggestion is an overwhelming concern to learn about TRUE DOCTRINAL ONENESS. ECUMENISM! ONENESS, without losing MANYNESS.
I see NO conflict between SOPHISTICATED CREATIONISM and DEVELOPING EVOLUTION THEORY as it becomes modified and extended by recent scientific findings and developments in our NEW DNA/RNA world. There must be present in our dynamic UNIVERSE an INTELLIGENT creating process -- in which INFORMATION THEORY has and will continue to be a part to contribute to the further enlightenment of ALL of us. We may have to revise the IMAGERY of what our present GOD-IMAGES ARE. But there is NO escape from the reality that that newly defined 'GOD-CUP' does exist, will eternally and continuously exist, and has always existed. There is ETERNAL OPERATIVE CONCRETIZING INTELLIGENCE working in OUR UNIVERSE, of which WE humans are an INTEGRAL part, just as you say about Chardin's UNIVERSAL PERSON.
My new Jesuit friend then 'saw the handwriting claerly", and knew that the WORLD was on a path, due largely to science, that would bring needed enlightenment to the PEOPLES OF OUR WORLD without any loss of the images and cultural contributions that our many religions contribute to beauty and progress today. He also knew that ECUMENISM was something to be sought for carefully (note: Muslims, Jewish, Christians) as 'human time marches on' and new acomodations have to be re-shaped! ONENESS and ALLNESS must come to embrace each and every one of us finite humans. And such IS possible! My youthful dilemma : the 'certainty of a question' may collapse into 'EUREKA!".
Dick
For most of my life--well, probably since first reading Teilhard in the early 1960s--I've thought that the truest tenents of any religion would be those tenents shared by other religions. Most if not all of these would have to do with ontology. The other more individuating tenents, usually doctrinaire, always seemed to me matters of custom and mores, not of the essence of "faith" but rather its trappings--habits (often called virtues), which religious practioners employed especially during initial stages of spiritual development to keep focus. Most religious "wars" are "fought" over these "practices" as though they are the essence rather than the trappings of religious commitment. I believe that what you call "God Imagery" is part of this initial stage of a person's development. Every image is purged and falls away as life works upon a person and every image of what we call GOD become inadequate. and only the direct experience of BEING remains -- and even that can be taken in only in small doses by an individual -- only that UNIVERSAL PERSON that contains us all (still many, but one) can "know God even as that one is known."
Teilhard's notion that we each contribute to this process (your C.U.P) simply by our work in this world seems perfect to me. Whether one is an artist, a laborer or a scholar, he says, the process of increasing the perfection of that work IS the process of evolution into God. For a writer, the effort brought to bear on perfecting a sentence, revising the form of expression, finding the best metaphor, all contributes to the process of creation. Each individual creation stands as a signpost of that ongoing process.
Thanks for this opportunity to think with you.

What a trigger! What is the meaning and what are the 'flows from' the concept of the Creating Universal Process. Is CUP LOVE??
As I look for vocabulary to get at the gut issue of how we can come to KNOW what the MIND and PROCESS are I am reminded of many ideas that leap out of the grand philosophic notion of 'ONTOLOGY'. Here immediately below is what I thought about as I read your first one and a half paragraphs.
ONTOLOGY: The study of being. Fundamental 'stuff' of existence. The problem of reality. Quantity and Quality. Thing and Thought. The fundamentally 'real'. Oneness vs Mind and Matter. The problem enters: BEING vs Becoming. Physical 'stillness' vs Ubiquitous 'movement'. Fixity vs Changing. Simplicity vs Complexity. Static and Dynamic ENTITIES. Homogeneity vs Diversity.
I must state that my concept of the 'CUP' has more to do with EVOLUTION and COMPLEX ENTITY CREATION than the far grander notion of GOD's LOVE of ALL CREATIONS. The work of the GODHEAD's PROCESS is the ever creation of ever more CREATIONS. The abundance of ENTITIES suggesting always the ever-presence of (time-bound) INTELLIGENCE (and instantaneous thought ='intuition') either as 'thought or thing' and their endless permuations together with combinations. I think that the sophisticated understanding of the mind of GOD has ALL to do with the eternal process of the CREATIONS OF Things from Thoughts. Non-material 'thought' is more fundamental than 'thing'. THE 'WORD".
A question then is whether and 'how' 'Thought generates the actions that produce Things', and here we are on top of the question of EVOLUTION. Evolutionary THEORY is NOT in conflict with the idea of 'instantaneousness, if and only if, (logically IFF) there is 'intuition. Therefore I must conclude at this low level of my present understanding that the Biblical Notion of CREATIONISM that our present debate about INTELLIGENT DESIGN features, may indeed be true. But at this level of MY 'knowingness' I prefer to operate from the lesser level of 'time related' EVOLUTION and accept the scientific burden of having to understand more fully the links between the needs of ENTITY CREATION (like humans, birds, bees, fish, trees, flowers, etc., etc.) and the operative powers of INFORMATION as it enters into the design and construction of ENTITIES.
In other writings I have tried to criticize the present day Physics Standard Model lightly. This model called the 'Big Bang' theory is not always linked to ENTITY CREATION in depth but physicists, especially the once more important 'particle physicists' pondered long and hard about particle (ENTITIES) creation. Evolution in current periods is beginning to move into the deep waters of the roles of INFORMATION to shape the complexities that exist.(like complex molecules and cells) and in the longer run the need to use INFORMATION notions like DNA, RNA, etc. to help explain the Creations of human and animal organs, parts (like eyes), human face symmetries, and so on and on. ALL miraculous as I see the 'shape of research to come). AS we penetrate these issues GOD will start to appear ever more often as perhaps totally incomprehensible but ever-present -- until we know more and more. 'What is' -- as I recall a quote by Whitehead -- 'should not be'! 'BUT IS!!!'
Evolution is, for me, a never ending process. There is material evolution, and this is where the issue of EVOLUTION is usually focused in todays' debates. BUT perhaps our microscopes don't go deep enough to see, to reveal to us, the 'changes' in the human ENTITY 'mind and body'. As I age I see changes in me that are both acceptable and not acceptable given my present 21st century, VALUE structure. But at 84 I can think in ways I never thought about before, but in physical terms I cannot do the things I used to be able to do. CHANGE, CHANGE, CHANGE!! ALL part of EVOLUTION? Is there a fixed end-point? I have no idea. I am in the grip of a perhaps knowable, but at present -- for ME -- unknown process! Curiously, though, I can observe the 'changes' and evaluate them as I walk further on life's paths.
One of my blessed sons and I had dinner together this past Sunday, in anticipation of next week's Father's Day. My wife, his mother, passed on 25 years ago and I have been a father-mother for that time to all five of my now 'grown-up' and evolving children. They each amaze me. This son is PRESENTLY interested in Buddhism (and is deeply involved in life studies and computer and communications technologies) and brought me a short book to read. I did so in a couple of hours after he returned to his home and family on Cape Cod. In it the author made a great case that human 'awareness' was really 'the spirit'. Evolution as it is so-far developed has said next to nothing about the creation of LIFE and THOUGHT. Think 'properties' of human entities at least, and here, with these two 'existences' we must be riddled with awe.
AS a Buddhist, the author basically pushes for the free flows of INFORMATION into and out from the ENTITIES--endlessly. This faith in the PROCESS is augmented by the need to deal with PERSONS' CREATIVITIES too : to inquire about the creative capacities of human beings (fed, I presume by the INFINITE SOURCE). So EXISTENTIAL WONDER comes on-stage. And this WONDER is what we need as human beings to lie safely in the bosom of this danger-laden WORLD of ours. Religious Doctrines are ways for us to lean to know and to wonder about ENTITY CREATION, CUP, Religions and their bounded doctrines, DIVINITY resident but underdeveloped in almost all human beings, and thus suggesting that the WAY to find UNIVERSAL PEACE is to FIND GOD (above the GOD of theism according to Paul Tillich) in our present universally distributed 'thoughts and things'.
So YES -- as you have noted -- the issue is the ONTOLOGICAL ISSUE. And that quest should come to grasp the HEARTS and MINDS of ALL humans so that we can, on our EARTH (for now until we learn to move into the endless Universe) be as meaningfully CREATIVE as is the CUP.
Thanks for your ALWAYS deeply insighful and CLEAR commentary.
Dick
Shakespeare comes to mind inappropriately: something about a poor player who struts and frets his hour upon the stage. Inappropriately because you are not a poor player. But you are on the stage now in a mighty drama which you have chosen to share. I see grace in your movements.
It brings to mind another drama I witnessed. That of Paul Hill, the world class choral conductor, founder of the Paul Hill Chorale of Washington DC with which I sang. I witnessed Paul's struggle with Lou Gehrig's disease. The music experience was valuable, but the drama was priceless. Paul moved through it with grace, from golf cart to wheelchair to mobile hospital bed. Not complaining. Not even mentioning his malady. Always focused on the task at hand. The music. And the planning for a transition to a new conductor. Nobility is somehow not a value celebrated in the media much anymore. But here was nobility on display.
And you display it too. You are a grace from God, currently on stage. If I were present, I would touch you as Jesus did, letting the healing power of God flow. Not that you need it. It already flows all around you. We will not live forever. And we will suffer. We get our chance at nobility only in this way. When my time comes, I will have some models to imitate. Yours and Paul's for two.
Cheers.
Jim
Christine, thanks for your kind note, which is what drew me here. Now I see it was the Light in the note, and a certain prayer I have as a gift for you and your beloved:
The Music, harmonics of the spine of Creation, be in you.
The LoveLight beating time/no-time, time/no-time, breath/no-breath, breath/no-breath
The LoveLight Stars, and Moon and Sun be with you, and in the power center shining Eyes, the Light of Love be with you
And over all the particles in their cells, the cells in their bodies, the bodies in their families, the families in their global groups, the global groups in their whole humanity -
Over all of these, the ocean, the ocean, the blanketing LoveLight ocean, be washing and nourishing you.
And may the circle of beads which is at one and the same time the Seeker's Way and the Path in the Garden-Heart Heaven which we may choose to follow throughout our lives and incarnations,
And which we do choose, our hearts choose,
And may the circle of beads be held in the one Helping Hand, which is all religions joined in single compassionate Truth,
And may the prayers said just so, enter the bones of all time and spread the knowledge of the Healing Self, the Healing Self, the sacred Healing Self.
Be Well
