Best Movie Ever?

The Godfather. Every time I watch it I get deeper and deeper into the characters. Besides for the exceptional storyline and character development, it has impeccable cinematography

The Man from Snowy River & Bed knobs and Broomsticks...I think they are just a great movies and it reminds me of my childhood. My sister and I rented them every time we went to the movie store...lol

Raiders of the Lost Ark

I've never been into that many movies, so I've never seen some of the "classics" that have been around. Some things, like Bambi, Lady and the Tramp, the first Star Wars, Close Encounters of a Third Kind, the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre I've only seen once. Some of the really old horror movies, Abbott and Costello, Ma and Pa Kettle...things along the OLD line, I've seen several times from my parents watching on Sunday mornings or me watching on Friday nights. The only ones I've seen multiple times that stick with me are Butterflies Are Free with Goldie Hawn and I think it was Edward Albert, Eddie Albert's son. The Wizard Of Oz was a yearly tradition when it came on...now, it can be seen all the time. And my favorite would have the be The Wiz; the black version of The Wizard Of Oz with Diana Ross as Dorothy and Michael Jackson as the Scarecrow. I think it was Nipsy Russell as the Tin Man...don't remember the rest. The entire thing was much better than the original version of The Wiz, based on a broadway adaptation...no names and low budget. Diana and Michaels' version was a lot more colorful and the music was killer. Other than that, the Charlie Brown, Snoopy and Peanuts specials...which I have all on video.

There's so many to name. One of my all time favorites is Casablanca.

I have to many that are the best to me.I also agree with Willy Wonka (orginal). I watched that movie so many times with my little brother and it does hold a special place in my heart for that reason. The sound of music was another one.I really don't have a reason why other than its was before movies started getting extremely sexual and had all that swearing in even in children's movies.
Grease and Crybaby. I just loved them both.
As for something newer....Conair.I have no clue why.

I too am a Wonka 1 fan. I love Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Almost any movie with Danny Kaye or Red Skelton are wonderful. You can't beat a Disney Classic.

I forgot The Wizard of OZ. As a child I grew up in a very small town in Kansas. The Little Person that played the Mayor of Munchkin Land lived a block from our house. He got to keep the big pocket watch from the movie.

Most Escapist: Raiders of the Lost Ark (I saw it the first time on the day my grandfather died. My parents didn't know what to do with my brother and me to distract us so they gave my brother money and sent us to the movies. Somehow this hasn't ruined the movie for me.)

Funniest: Bringing Up Baby

Most Frightening: 28 Days Later or Paperhouse

Most Intellecutally Edifying: Stealing Heaven

Guiltiest Pleasure: Road to Eldorado

Honestly, I could go on.

i really cant decide here, i really liked gangs of new york though, its up there
