Something Old...Becomes Something NEW

For many years, we have driven past this old vacant lot where the grass is grown up waist high. None of us gave it much thought until one day recently, something amazing happened. The sign that stood by the road was lit one night. The grass was mowed and the excitement was in the air. Much like the old days, the cars were lined along the road from about 6:30 PM onward. Yes, the drive-in was open and showing movies. Here is a picture of that sign of HOPE and EXCITEMENT....

I loved drive in movies when my kids were little. It was one of our family outings, we packed up a big picnic dinner, the kids were put in their jammies, and we had a whole evening of fun and food for the price of one car's entry! I will have to remember to ask my kids what they remember about the drive in's!!!

Very cool! We have to drive almost an hour to get to the closest drive in, but it has 5 or 6 screens! It's really neat!

Very cool! The last drive-in on Long Island closed a few years ago and now has a BJs in its place! I loved going to the drive-in as a kid.

I loved the drive in as a child but it closed down years ago. I have since moved from that state, but don't think there is one in this city either. So sad.

We have a drive in not far from us and we love it! I think it has like 10 screens.

Too cool! I used to love drive-ins. It's just not the same going to the big media plexes.
