A few days ago I woke to a photographer's dream. It had rained all night, and by dawn the sun broke through to herald a brilliant day.

These tree peonies, a gift from a good friend who needed to rescue them from the deer that frequently feast in his gardens, came alive in the sunlight. I wanted to morph into the images, and nestle inside the softly drenched petals.

Here's a view from the morning before. Each blossom is about 8-10 inches across!

A smaller bud.

Top view. I promise, this is the last one, but I couldn't stop taking photos of these amazing flowers!

I continued on to the pansies. I had purchased orange and white to mix together like a Creamsicle. ;o) Shades of childhood invading my gardens, huh? Anyway, this lone yellow/apricot/plum pansy had sneaked into the mix, and I loved its individuality!

Here are the apricot pansies.

A shot from the day before, sans sun and rain. But you can get an idea how the colors will mix. Do you like it?

Around the corner to one of the iris beds. This gorgeous white lady greeted me.

"Look into my eyes..." Hypnotic, isn't she?

And her petticoats are so graceful...

This is a grape iris - small blossoms, but hardy and the fragrance is reminscent of Grape Lifesavers!! No kidding! It really smells just like them! If anyone wants some, I will share. I have tons and they need to be divided in July. Just let me know.

This is another purple variety, I wish I knew the names, like Peter G, but I only seem to remember tulip names! LOL! I guess that's because I order the tulips individually, and my iris are always ordered in collections.

This english daisy doesn't have raindrops on it, but I thought it was neat how the petals grew right out of the center!!

I promised you a shot of the Alba bleeding hearts. Here they are!

Two days ago I was still waiting. This morning I woke to orange and red poppies! But I've run out of time, must get ready for work. Been at this since four AM! Stay tuned for more iris, poppies, tree peonies, and regular peonies.

Oh, one last photo, I promise... my peas are flowering and this morning I found pods! Yay! ;o)

Beautiful photo technique. Beautiful presentation of subject. I am enthralled.
This was superb!
I wish the irises could grow here and I could take advantage of your generous offer!!!
Thank you for the lovely walk in your rain-kissed garden this morning
BTW, I left you some comments on your mango comments in my articles..........you must be eating too many of them because your icon has reverted to the orange gather one...........!
Thanks, Jennifer. ;o) They are a delight, especially the scent.
Bobbie, you made me laugh. I have Sara Berhnhardt peonies, too, they are my favorite, but mine are all close-mouthed as well. ;o) Love the idea of them singing like an opera singer! ;o)
Thank you, Pamela! You are so kind. ;o)
Julie, you are most welcome!
Thank you, Flit!!
Hi, Ann! I've missed your photos, too! Hope all is well.
Hi, Bobbi! Oh, I love the crepe paper look of the peonies, too. They're so gorgeous, aren't they? More to come. My yellow/blush just came out, and now my flame peony is blooming, too. I can barely keep up with them!!
Hi, Jessie! You sure can! More peonies bloomed today, so I'll be trying to capture them in the morning. I love them so much, I have about 40 plants! And thanks for featuring me in your group!
Hi, Laurie. I guess the only way to find out is to try. I have them on all sides of the house and yard, and most bloom. I know they need some sun, I'm just not sure if they need it all day. Maybe Peter G. would know? (Tonia G's dad)
My dear SW, I'm so glad you stopped by and enjoyed a little flower time. ;o)
Hi, Sonia! Now that I'm back at work, it's getting tougher to keep up than ever. Oh my. I'm still behind! I must go back and see your comments! ;o) Thank you for your kind words, and I'm so happy you enjoyed the show today. Hee hee about the orange. I put that star up to thank Gather for all their wonderful services - it was supposed to be up for today as a symbol of our gratitude. Now I'm back to me! LOL!
Debbie, that is a wonderful image - my grandsons learning from me and having their own "adult" gardens some day. Are grandkids great?!
You're most welcome, Tinch!
Hi, Marian. Aren't the white bleeding hearts nice? I'm very partial to any white blossoms. ;o)
Heh heh, Sonia. You are too funny! ;o)
Aww, Mariana, I hope these help populate your dreams with lovely petals of all colors!
Marianne! Are you in Australia? Cool! Is it fall down there? My only other Australian friend is Maggie Ball from compulsivereader.com. She owns the site and is a great writer, as well as a Gather member. I'm not gonna ask you if you know her, that would be tantamount to you asking me if I knew someone in New York City! LOL.
Tina, you are so welcome!!
Aww, Beryl. Even though we haven't emailed alot in the past few days, I feel like I've been "with" you, since I'm reading your book and loving it. It's a real work of art, and I'm savoring every page. I love the way you described my photos. ;o) Thank you!
Hi, Anne Marie! Thanks and have a great evening!
