We're coming up on my last week of school, and the students are in full-on ready-for-vacation mode. There are lots of end-of-year events for the next few weeks, and then I get a couple of weeks off before doing a week of summer program.
In the meantime, this week brings us reports of new Loch Ness Monster footage (okay, actually footage of something of indeterminate size and indeterminate shape moving in a pretty indeterminate body of water, but hey, the truth is out there, right?).
We're two weeks removed from the Granite State Comicon and I'm finally sorting through the loot we picked up there, so we'll start there with our plugs.
Plugs from the Granite State Comicon
First of all, Gynn and I were both very impressed by the presence of the 501st Legion's New England Garrison at the show. 501st is an Imperial Star Wars costuming fan club, and it's members had some incredible costumes at the Granite State Comicon. In fact, Gynn was so impressed with the group, their costumes, and the charitable work they do that she is planning on joining. She is currently working on a Jawa costume.
Myriad Games - An excellent game store located in Salem NH, Myriad hosts tournaments, and stocks a great selection of boardgames.
Foongatz Studios - Small press comic book publishers, makers of Sam: Fate Revolution.
The Granite State Comicon itself is sponsored by another excellent store, Double Midnight Comics in Manchester NH.
Plugs For My Stuff
I write comics. My latest is Zephyr & Reginald: Minions for Hire #2, illustrated by my wife, Gynn Stella.
I also write an ongoing fiction serial at The Edge of Propinquity, which appears each month along with four other stories by very talented writers.
I have three stories appearing in the upcoming Finis collection.
My personal zine is Caravan, which appears in the Phoenix APA. I'm currently working on a new issue.
I write two columns for Comic Widows, a comic fan website. One is "Panel Discussion" which features short reviews of individual comic books. The other is my travel column, "On the Road".
You can also check out my Comicspace page, my Deviantart page, and my Livejournal. I have three groups here on Gather: Geek Travel, Magic the Gathering Players, and Panel Discussion (Comic Book Reviews).
For the gamers out there, I sell Magic: The Gathering cards on Cardshark. My seller ID is rsilva. You can find my inventory here.
