Did anyone else catch the 3 hour Crafts in America special on PBS? I saw it last night, and it was wonderful and diverse.
I'm not really fond of the roach clip and crack pipe art. But I did appreciate the humor of the man that makes the chair sculptures. I can't remember what he said word for word but basically it was, "When I realized I'd be sitting down with a drink next to me and a nude woman in front of me, I decided art was the career for me."
For those of you that missed it, the show featured artists who have had their work displayed in the Smithsonian. They interviewed blacksmiths, quilters, ceramacists, weavers, basketweavers, glassblowers, sculptors, woodworkers and jewelers.
I am jealous of their amazing studios and storage areas. I want to see Part 1 again because I was cooking dinner and missed some of it.
I like the one man who said, "There is no seperation between life and art."

I suppose most of my hobbies involve art! Poetry, short stories, scene settings, and then there's this one called a "MUD." A "MUD" (Multi-User Dungeon) is like a text-based video game, so word play is important, as well as strong descriptive abilities and a wild imagination.
