To Michiganians, “”Up North” means a lot of different places. For Matt and I it means traveling to my parents’ house in Onekama, which is on Lake Michigan.
We always make a point to go to the beach at Portage Lake, observing wildlife, kayaking, taking the dogs for a swim, or to watch the sunset.
These are a few shots I took over Memorial Day weekend.
The view across the lake. Note: There are very few homes, Onekama is still very quiet.
Some pretty plants nestled in the rocks along the shore:

Mr Seagull was
awful friendly:
A breeding pair of ducks that we saw walking up and down the streets all weekend long:

Everyone down at the beach with the dogs:

Great times.

Thanks all!
I knew some people from upper Michigan and they almost had a brogue sound to their accents (but they denied it). I wonder where that came from?
hee hee hee, we did leave out the Scottish accent on the Platte!
