Maintaining the University of Tennessee's reputation as a party school, black bears have recently begun traveling from the nearby Smoky Mountains to party in Knoxville's Old City, a downtown favorite of bar-hopping college students.
"I just wanted to have a good time," said one bear, who asked to remain anonymous. "The Smokies are completely dry now - global warming has hit us hard. There's just no place to relax and get a few drinks there any more. If I had known the Knoxville cops would hassle us like this, I'd have just gone to Dollywood instead."
