Hi, Mary

Once again I'm writing to say congratulations!

"The Blackbird's Secret" will be our Kodak Picture
of the Day on June 5,  2007.
As always, it will appear on our HomePage and
on the Times Square Gallery in New York City.

I have a family of blackbirds nesting in the bush
right by my deck. But now I know their secret :-)
Thanks for sharing your wonderful pictures with
us. We always look forward to seeing them!

when I went back a week later to check on the nest, it was empty-- I think it got robbed because the blackbird was not very bright. they are too accustomed to human company and not very selective in sites.

More likely the birds stayed away from the nest after you messed with it, making the eggs vulnerable. You should have just taken the pic as is and not cleaned around the nest and eggs so you get your perfect kodak moment. You get your 15 minutes. Hope it was worth disturbing the nest.

thanks for the comment gayle-- do you smell a troll? I complained to Gather, which although their TOS forbids such behavior, Gather does nothing to enforce the TOS regarding trolls. So I begin to think it is actually a Gather god instead. seems normal in this place.

and yup, the troll hapily went through and downranked every single image while I was watching.... so much for Gather Inc propaganda and TOS enforcement re: trolls. So much easier for gather gods to show up on my pages with 24hour ultimatums since I am pretty innocent person.

is normal-- several of them on Gather and Gather does nothing. They jsut talk about stopping the stalking and harassment, but do nothing. Just produce good writing and images and this is what you get. keeps the politically right people on the front pages and top 50
