It's a fact: I have won the emotional lottery.
This Friday, June 1, my husband and I will celebrate our 5 Year Anniversary! We have been together for 8... the fastest 8 years of my life! How the time has flown by.
Now, I know that 5 years is just a drip in the bucket of life, and have so much respect for those marriages that have withstood longer tests of time. But I'm proud of our 5 years, dammit! We still seriously dig each other, generally don't take one another for granted, have learned how to deal with our differences and are respectful of one another's space. Oh!... did I mention that we laugh a LOT?
I feel so blessed to have crossed paths with this man... he is an amazing and facinating person to me. Genuine, big-hearted, chivalrous, considerate, patient, free in sprit, handsome, kind, fraternal, loyal, intelligent, witty, honest, dependable, trustworthy, romantic and supportive just scratch the surface of his qualities.
Jason James Mickelson, I love you more than mere words may express. You are my rock, my humility, my partner in crime and commrade in arms. Thank you for making every day more joyous through example and providing levity and insight when the evils of taking oneself too seriously threatens.
*Raise a pint* Here's to the next 5 years... and 10... 15...20...
Your enamoured wife,
Ali

5 years is a milestone and you're right it goes SO fast! We have our 7th anniversary tomorrow (June 3rd) and unfortunately won't be together. I am in Colorado on a last minute trip to spend some time learning my parent's business. Perhaps though by not being together it will cause us to take seriously the moment we take to celebrate in the coming week (or weeks with how busy we are)!
Again congratulations and don't ever forget the love you feel now even when the going gets tough!
