Very Disappointed...:(

I published and commented more than ever yesterday and I had faith that it was all being calculated. When all is said and done, I got only 41 points from the time it froze until now. I feel very cheated, disheartened and sad. I would have gotten that many plus some on a regular day, so I know I did not get triple points. Oh well, it is a good thing I love the community here because if it were for the points alone, this would be a sad day indeed. I hope others faired better.

Wow, I think mine went up more then 100 points. All I did, pretty much the whole day yesterday, was leave comments everywhere. Even my elbow hurt from typing so much. Good thing I got a new pair of glasses or my eyes would have hurt, too.

I know some fared much better, getting at least 600 points, But I got about 60 and I have gotten that in a day in the past.

I am new to all of this, I got aout 100 points, but I was doing a lot more then I usually do. I still have very low points but I am trying to get them higher. LOL
I don't think this was a glitch, but an intentional interruption so that people would not be able to see their points not accumulating as they should have. The fact is that the people that really keep track of their points have already an estimated tally of how many they make a day. Even the most mathematicaly uninclined here, still has a grasp of the three table, I think, so their interruption won't be effective if they are trying to deceive these members.

I was disappointed also. Guess I had too high of expectations. Mine went up by 90 and then an hour later it went up another 45. Suppose that could be right. However, I did a similar amt of commenting on Friday and made 200 pts. I'll be sorry to see the triple points go away.

Mine didn't increas much either. Maybe all of your comments on this article will help out and maybe your points will increase more soon.
I should add that I think, for what I've put out, I probably did get triple points, but I don't usually pay that much attention so it's difficult to tell for sure.

Like others have stated, I logged in once after the points re-appeared and my points were the same. Logged in a second time and they jumped about 30 points. Logged in a third time - much later in the day - and they jumped an additional 30 or so. I would just give it some time to catch up.

Comment on others while you're waiting and you'll get even more points! :)

I have learned to expect very little of Gather, other than a place to occasionally publish, and a whole group of new friends. I have no plans for the points so I don't really track them, for those who do you them I htink it's a shame that there was yet another glitch.

Hi Karen,
Being a former point-whore, I have tried to figure out the point sytem and have not succceeded. In my opinion, you don't get points from commenting, but from people reading your articles. When you comment on others articles, it is more likely they'll comment on yours. But, of course, this is all supposition.

I have learned one thing though....don't worry so much about the points! They aren't worth that much. They're fun to get (especially when you get a lot) but not worth being disappointed or upset about if you don't get a lot. Just have fun with posting and reading! Happy gathering! :-)

I gained back all the points that should have been there overnight, too; waking up to a large increase in my total catching me back up. Just a temporary freeze, but they were added on in a big chunk.

I haven't been able to do much because of previous plans this weekend. I will see if I can do any more towards earning points the rest of the week. By the time they get all of the bugs worked out of their "system" the week will be over.

I'm feeling frustrated by it. I hear of people who have gotten like fifteen hundred points this weekend. I've gotten about two hundred, I think (not totally sure)... *sigh*

I have definitely seen it go up. But I am also definitely not one of the ones that had it go up 1500 points. I can't be on as much as some people seem to be.
