I'd like to tell you about Maggie. She's an 18 month old beagle mix, and I personally think she has some dachund in her. Maggie has had a difficult life so far. She was abandoned on the side of the road and hit by a car. The pound called Jennifer's pet rescue to take her or she was going to be put down. That was 4 1/2 months ago. Maggie's broken leg has healed pretty well, as have the cuts on her face and other legs. She is a sweet little thing; only 17.4 pounds. One interesting thing about Maggie is she doesn't bark. We don't know why...beagles usually are quite yappy, but Maggie doesn't say a word. Everything is in her eyes.
My daughter Angela has wanted a puppy for years. When she turned 10, we said that she could get a dog. That was almost 6 months ago. Angela has never found a dog that she really liked, until now. She fell in love with Maggie as soon as she saw her. Perhaps it is due to the healing injuries and scars Maggie has, but whatever the reason, Angela had to have her. Angela has her own scars from surgery so I guess she "feels the pain."
We went back to the pet rescue this afternoon to pick up Maggie. She seems to be adjusting well to our house. She's currently in her crate for the night, which was no issue at all with her. I hope she doesn't cry tonight. I do have this feeling that Maggie is going to be my dog, not my daughters. Maggie already listens to me and comes when called. I posted a picture of her...notice the sores and scars on her leg. They will heal with time.

Good luck - I'm sure she will bless you. :-)
This comment and rating of your older gather content was an idea Steve the Legend had on how to give a Christmas gift to our Gather connections. He posted an article earlier this month with the suggestion of checking out our connections older content. You are the 28th connection I have done this with so far. Hope you have a Merry Christmas, Jax!
I am currently trying to rescue a beagle from a negligent person who refuses to give the poor dog up. I am contacting my local help now.
