Some of you may know that I was recently hospitalized. Unfortunately this coincided with the period of time in which Poesia's behavior would likely have confirmed or refuted her suspected and eagerly anticipated pregnancy. We are now forced to wait an additional twenty one days to see if she comes into heat, or not. Is there ever a good time to be ill? Under the present circumstances all we can do is wait and hope. However, there are a few things we can know.

If Poesia is pregnant by this time her foal has the shape of a head and the nub of a tail. Four little projections that will become legs can be seen on ultrasound. It's pea sized heart can be seen flashing, already beating faithfully. The ultra sound could detect dark dots that will become eyes wide open with wonder at all the world contains. Until then, we wait, and hope and watch Poesia glow!

Debbie, I hope you are feeling much better!
She is a beautiful horse. How long is a horse pregnancy?
Wilma, a horse pregnancy is approximately 11 months! I actually have asked her, but so far she is keeping the secret! Thank you for the get well wish!
Thanks Lisa!
Trish, I appreciate that! The foal would no doubt be one of the best photographed youngsters in the world!
Lynn how sweet your comment! Thank you!
Frank! I so appreciate your get well wish, and I am so glad you phoned! Tonia needed your support. It has been tough for her. :)
God Bless
E, many thanks!
Debra, thanks so much! I certainly hope there is a newcomer on the way!
I have now also finally accepted this to my "Everything" group, sorry for any delays...
But please be patient... As of right now I still had 3925 pieces or so to accept in to the group. :o)
So glad you are home Deb.
Wishing you laughter and healing
I love your horse pictures. If I could, I'd have a horse...
Keep us posted on you and on Poesie.
I wanted Poesia to have a name that meant poetry in motion, because that was in fact what I exclaimed every time I watched her move across the field. The Peruvian Paso's natural gait is that beautiful and pleasurable. Living in Texas it was not difficult to find assistance with spelling and pronunciation. :) Poesia en Motion is worthy of her name!
Peruvian Paso's that are registered must have spanish names. Sometimes they end up with nicknames for ease in conversations. We are actually considering a naming contest, and will let everyone know if we choose to do that, and as time gets closer. :)
Such a pretty horse....can I get by with a pun and say she is as pretty as a poem? ;-))
I will be interested in following up this story!!!!
I hope you're feeling better each day.
I unfortunately don't have the option of half time. It is 12 hrs long at full capacity, and I am not sure when that might happen.
I thank you all for the good wishes though. All the caring comments boosts my spirits. :)
I am afraid to say so, because I don't want to be disappointed, nor for anyone to be disappointed, but I really think it unlikely that Poesia came into heat and back out so quickly. It's possible, but if you want my opinion I think there is a good chance she is in fact pregnant. :)
