I'm a person that like to clean out my connection requests and group invites on a regular basis. But gradually, as time has gone by I have built up a collection of group invites that cannot be accepted-- or denied. When I click on the icon there is a seemingly empty list. Yet the icon with the little "4" next to it haunts me. The ghosts of Gather. The invisible groups.
I have been tempted to ask Gather adminstrators to make them go away-- but what the use? They are likely to go away only to multiply, plant gremlins in my computer, make me feel their wrath. Why risk whatever dangers lie in upseting The Phantom Group Invites.
I have decided it is best to welcome this growing ghostly family to the corner of my computer screen with open arms. Denying them would push them into obvlivion, accepting them would bury them in my pages of groups and make them difficult to find. Perhaps that is why they make their presense aware, yet never show their face. Who knows?
Don't worry little ghosts. You day has come. I will honor you. Since there are four of you carved into my screen forever I shall name you Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson and Roosevelt, after the faces on Mt. Rushmore. Even as phantoms, you are solid in my heart.

To get to those invites you need to click on settings in the upper right-hand corner of any page of gather. After the settings page loads, scroll down about half way to the Guarded Viewing section. Click on the circle by Guarded Viewing Off and then check the box I certify that I am 18 or older (of course, only due that if you are at least 18 years old!) and then click the orange SAVE button.
After the page refreshes you can click on the group invites icon and accept or reject the groups that you have received invites.
You can leave the adult content settings to viewable, or go back to the settings page and change it back to unviewable by reversing your selections. If you accept any of the groups and then return to your original settings, you will not be able to view those new groups.

Can I have one?
I'll be good to it. ^_^
