Who among us doesn't enjoy the fun and excitement of a parade? I'll bet you'll find it hard to run across someone who has never seen one. From the time we're young, we're rounded up to head downtown to watch the processions marching by. They lift our spirits. They give us joy. Some good, clean, old fashioned fun for all to take in.
Parades are held all year long everywhere around the world. They mark holidays, patriotic events, festivals and more. They range from a group of neighborhood children pretending they're grown up to huge, elaborate celebrations where thousands participate and tens times that number watch as spectators. Parades step off in all kinds of weather; in the heat of summer, while it rains in the chill of autumn, even while the snow falls. There has never been a parade where no one has shown up to see the pageantry pass by.
We all attend for a variety of reasons. Maybe we're there to support the cause. It could be we have a child, family member or friend marching. Quite possibly, we like them so much, we simply want to revel in the spirit of a parade and have a little fun. Whatever it's all about, we want to be there to be a part of the excitement. How many of us has showed up early to make sure we get a good spot to watch a parade go by. Just take a look at how many are in the crowd.
Now, take a look around at all else you see. There are many sights and sounds when a parade takes place; something for everyone. So many things go on; so much to take note of. How observant are you? There are hundreds of things to take in when the marchers pass by. I'll be we all can come up with at least a few. Let's see how many we can come up with. It's an easy thing to do. Simply respond with your comments on things you find at a parade. Since everyone loves a parade; everyone should be able to come up with at least a few; one answer per comment, please. Let's get the show underway...and here we go....strike up the band!
