Grandma and Grandpa H. were Swedish. We always had some Swedish specalties when we ate with them at holiday times. Grandma and Aunt Evelyn (who lived with them) were fantastic cooks, don't get me wrong. They made the best food, and the treats--Kaka bread, spritz, pepparkakor, meringue cookies and ice cream on a meringue shell, etc. etc.--to die for! As for sill--pickled herring--FORGET IT! EWW! Totally disgusting! No way we kids were going to eat that slimy, gross white fish, that was passed around the dinner table with everything else. But guess what? Now I LOVE IT.....
What foods do you hate, and why? How about your family members? Any traditional family foods that you are SOOOOO tired of? Have you grown to like anything you have hated in the past?

Back later!
Now I like cabbage dishes, but sauerkraut--never. Bad childhood impressions!
I hated squash as a kid. I still rarely eat it. An acorn squash maybe once a year.
Spinach, not a favorite, but I ate it with butter on it.
Some of our mothers MURDERED perfectly good vegetables, it's a wonder we still eat them......
hehehehe :-))
