Yesterday's mail brought an updated picture of my sponsored child and a progress report of her living conditions.
She's 13 years old now, has grown 4 inches taller and gained 13 pounds since the last progress report in August of last year. Her family income has increased from approximately $34.00 a month to $69.00 a month. That's got to be good news!
The family house is a one multi-use room, but they do have brick walls, a tile roof and a concrete floor. My information is that electricity is available, but it doesn't say that my child's house uses it. Their water comes from community faucets.
I'd love to post a picture of my sponsored child, but I don't know it that is allowed. For now, I'll just enjoy looking at the picture of this pretty girl that I keep right next to my computer.

Sue, yes, I do get to write to her. We are cautioned to not write too much about our material possessions, though, as it might engender discontent with the sponsored child's circumstances.

I'm sure there are other reputable organizations, but this is the one that suited me.
