Healing Recipes @ the end of this article.
Even before the onslaught of modern medicine, the ancient people knew most of the secrets in the art of nature's healing, and these traditions have been carried around the world. One ancient remedy that stands head and shoulders above all the rest, is one that man has never been able to duplicate from nature's storehouse. Aristotle called it the "Dew of the Stars and Rainbows" - that golden elixer of the Honeybee.
You may not have known this, but the Honeybee is not native to North America, which may be the reason we are now seeing their decline. Native Americans curiously watched as the Pilgrims set up beekeeping on their Dew Drop Inn Ranches, and commented that white man had condemned the "fly" to labor for him. Man may indeed manipulate the Honeybee into a man-mad hive, but never will man own this creature, for the Honeybee has a mind of its own.
The science of the Honeybee still remains a mystery, for no man can fully identify the properties of the golden honey, in order to duplicate it. Still, it didn't take a rocket scientist to understand that honey held antibacterial properties, as well as being chalk full of life sustaining nutrients from all those different wildflowers. In fact, 550 honeybees must visit 2.5 million flowers in order to make a pound of honey.
Meanwhile, back at the Dew Drop Inn, Grandma and Grandpa are mixing up today's secret batch of ancient medicine:
Grandma's Magic Cure:
Mix one egg yolk, one tbsp honey, and one tbsp olive oil. Spread onto surgical gauze, and place on burn or affected area. The pain should subside completely within a short while. When the dressing dries, repeat the treatment until healing is complete.
Note: The Egyptians used this mixture to heal the scars of ancient surgery.
Grandpa's Magic Tonic:
Two tsp honey, two tsp cidar vinegar, 6 ounces warm water. Drink this tonic twice daily to replenish the body's minerals.
Note: Grandpa says this tonic is a mental, as well as physical, enhancer.
The Dew Drop Inn Nightcap:
Three tbsp honey, one tsp vanilla, and eight ounces warm milk will help you sleep like baby.
Note: Seems mixing honey with different ingredients has different effects on the body, although all are healing effects.
I guess this explains why most people see the four clover as lucky - lucky for us the bees love love it.

Carolion I have a Honey Cookbook, but it has all these other healing remedies in it, oiments and even meads, LOL. Hubby and I sweeten with honey and have for years. We don't use sugar. Waitresses smile when he asks for honey for his coffee. I may print out some more recipes and remedies later, maybe next week.
Is honey alright for diabetics to take?
