I came across a website last night called TAP, or Terrorist Awareness Prevention. I decided we were probably all terrorists, since their criteria for spotting one of these dissidents could match practically everyone. (I hope.) Therefore, we could spare our neighbor the hassle of having to report us since they will already be so busy reporting themselves. Here are some examples of a person who needs to be reported:
1. Feels the contitution is being subverted
2.Feels US is losing its sovereignty
3.Feels that excessive gun control is enslavement
4. Against globalization
5. Against world trade
6. Against military intervention
7.Focused on fixing wrongs
8. Believes in animal rights

I can't believe these are the signs of a terrorist. They fit an awful lot of people I know!
One U.S. Representative was quite candid about the passage of The Patriot Act after 9/11. He said nobody in Congress had the time to even read the bill before it was enacted or after it became law.
We, the citizens, know the basics. Read everything before you sign anything.
The Patriot Act is many of its details couldn't pass constitutional muster. Unfortunately it will take many lawyers and a lot of court cases to protect those suspected of terroristic activities. What will protect their rights?
The U.S. Constitution and The Bill of Rights. The founders signed it. Now shouldn't you read it. Even if you glanced at it in high school civics, read it again.
We are a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.
The accused are innocent until proven guilty.
So far there is enough evidence that The Patriot Act is not innocent.
And voters will get another chance in 2008 to decide if the president and the congress are acting legally according to the rule of law.
Injustice committed by government is tyranny. That, too, is a kind of terrorism.
The powers of government not expressed in the U.S. Constitution are reserved for the people. Read it. It's in the constitution.
Oh. Also, "against war" was another one.
There are many kinds of terrorist organizations. Animal Liberation Front and the Earth Liberation Front are serious domestic terrorist threats. They do things like free animals from labs and blow up places.
