A bibliophile is a lover of books and someone that might collect them. I am addicted to books and that in itself is not really a big deal, but the collection thing is creating some problems. My collection is getting out of hand and even considering getting rid of any makes me cringe. I just keep buying bookcases and more books. My husband is supportive, but he is getting a little bit of a worry about space. LOL.....What causes such a love for books?
By loving books, I am talking about actually HAVING to own them and actually HAVING to go to real live bookstores even though they are cheaper online. I am sure to use bookmarks and I keep the books I read each year listed in a notebook. I think I am ill...LOL
Does anyone have similar stories? Tell me about your books.....

I have always been a reader and grew up in a house full of books. I covet them. My dream house would have a library. I don't care about how many bathrooms, the view, etc., I just want a library!
Let's see, my books.....Well I had a rather large collection of Hollywood books. There were some signed biogs, histories and such all about the pre- 1940's era in film, but I lost those to a bad relationship. Now that I have started over, I am leaning toward the classics.
I read a biography of F. Scott Fitzgerald and it had a huge list of books that were a big influence on him. One by one, I am collecting those.
I am a big fan of Library book sales. I don't mind if a book has been loved a little and it allows me to get so many more than when they are full retail.
Has it taken over my life?? It has certainly taken over my closet and under both beds in my house. I have been on the search for the perfect bookcase, but when I finally find it, I will need two or three.
My husband isn't a reader, so he doesn't understand my love of books. He just hates having books all over the house.
I used to keep track of what I had read but don't do that any longer. I do have a list on my computer of books I WANT to read.
