Book Synopsis Snippet from Stephen Prosapio's Dream War:
When the CIA recruited Hector Lopez in 1981, he never could have imagined that one day he'd be fighting evil seeping into our world through nightmares. The week Ronald Reagan was inaugurated, Lopez joined a program that had developed a way to enter dreams and extract information. By dream-linking to hijackers, Lopez helped save hundreds of hostages. Then, the CIA unleashed the technology for a purpose much more sinister.
Now, decades later, a mystical medallion protects Lopez as he fights an entity attempting to breech our dimension. What happened to the CIA operation in the 80's? Joined by a recovering alcoholic, an elderly expatriate, and a little girl displaying special powers, Lopez must not only deal with a past catastrophe, but defeat evil— both in this world and in a dimension of nightmares.
DREAM WAR weaves dark urban fantasy with ancient Roman events to create a unique paranormal thriller.

Good luck!
Rita :o)
We all know that its between your's and Geoff's book (anything else would be a grave miscarriage of judgement) Either way, whoever of you wins, I expect you will both get published. Both are worthy, and ready.....just different kinds of stories.
Like I said in my reviews, your story is a unique and wonderful piece of Science Fiction/Fantasy that brings us into a whole new 'world.' (and thats coming from an 'expert' reader in the field). These aren't easy accomplishments. There are many pretenders to SF/Fantasy lit; but you are not one of them.
"Dream War" is also a great 'crossover' piece, that will easily make you a rising new Michael Crichton/Orson Scott Card.
"Gather creates a new Michael Crichton!"
Sounds like the premise for a Fantasy book in itself, eh? ;-) But its true. Just know that you have hundreds of aspiring SF/Fantasy FirstChapters authors on Gather looking forward to your accomplishment! You can consider them the "Gather 300" that slogged through the trenches, many knowingly falling on their sword in the process, in support of an SF victory in this earthly war.
The Fantasy Writer's Guild on Gather
The Science Fiction Writer's Collective on Gather
Like I told Geoff, I look forward to an author signed copy :-)
Oh, and the cocktail parties??? But only if they are in WEHO, Hollywood is so passe :-o
We are all proud, and happy for you :-)
(I'm sure everyone says: "Sucks it isn't me; but you are a good second choice in anybody's book ;-)
Jude
I can't wait to read the whole thing. It sounds as though I might have to stay up nights and hope that the dreams I do have (when I finally go to sleep) are mine and not someone elses. Kudos kiddo!!!
