Book Synopsis Snippet from Scott Middlemist's Name Drop Zone:
The narrator was a combat air controller in Iraq and becomes a civilian air traffic controller when he gets home. During a savage monsoon, the narrator confuses a moment from the war with reality and crashes two passenger jets into each other-killing hundreds. He ends up committed in a psychiatric hospital where he is treated with an experimental migraine medication. This medicine allows his imagination to unlock the dimension between life and heaven-hell. Another soldier, living in this dimension, lands on the hospital roof in a helicopter and extracts the narrator from his hospital room. The narrator comes to find that during the crash he caused, his soul was blown into eight parts that he must recover to heal himself and return home to his family.

Congrats! Best of luck in the final round.
I wish you could have laid to rest the concerns over the use of language and audience for your piece. I'd like to think, as a teacher, that you'd be more like Robin Williams in "Dead Poet's Society," than "The Cynical Rapper's Gang." Good luck in finding your way, and leading young minds and hearts similarly.
With high hopes....
:-)
This truely sounds interesting. Something I'd turn the T.V. off for. Good luck and hope to read it all soon.
