Believe it or not I copied all the above from ONE posted article. It had the largest list of groups I have ever seen on Gather. This man/woman? posted a poem to all the above groups! Can you imagine being the owner of a cooking group receiving this in your pages? :-)

So I see this mail notification saying Sandy has just published..........war and I think "oooooh gooood, Sandy is back on form, I'll post something. And when I got here I could find no articles about war but lots about Gather. I almost cried ;-)

Anyway, I posted an articlette as my ratings elsewhere needed a boost.

BTW I have not got very far with Greenteeth in the last two months but my walking has come on leaps and bounds. My sights are set on a hike to the top of Pendle Hill by the end of summer.

And I was hoping to make it from this chair to the bathroom - darn you, Ian. Sorry if the notice was deceiving. I'm publishing what matters most to the "new" Gather - you know, the one that people harassed the crap out of me to accept, and that I finally did, since Gather seemed to support those people who harassed the crap out of me.

This is a fruitlesss enterprise, babe. At the rate at which groups proliferate here, someone would have to devote every waking moment (and more than a few sleeping ones, as well) to keep up with the task of alphabetizing them. Besides, I think the management team has enough time on its hands to do the job itself. Isn't there a Director of This Group Should Go Here? On the other hand, maybe some other Member just like us would appoint himself to take charge (assuming he is familiar with the alphabet, of course).

Ruth, I know you are right. And you know how hard it is for me to give up believing we can make a difference. If I could just alphabetize or categorize the groups on my own page, I would be happy. I can't imagine how those people who belong to more groups than they can remember keep up at all. I guess that's why they just check every one on the list instead of reading the names.

Hello Everyone, I just wanted to apologize for my late night comments yesterday. I was stressed out and in an angry, rebellious mood and some of the things I said were very inappropriate and very hurtful. So, I am sorry if I offended anyone and I know I made myself out to be a biggoted and prideful jerk, which anyone that knows me well knows is not me at all. I again apologize for my comments especially to you Sandy because they were on your article, and I would like to thank my wonderful girlfriend for pointing out my very rude and indecent behavior. I am very sorry, I have the answer to SAndy's, yours and many other peoples' problems with gather (no, I don't mean homemade explosive devices) and I have been sitting on it for months coz every time I log on here I just want to log out again.
Oh well, if you can persuade Sandy to flagellate me with and Opus Dei member's garter belt that might encourage me to get my arse in gear.

As of last count, there are more Gather Groups than Gather Members.

And it looks like the attempted solution was to create essentials groups that have 10,000 and more members, yet only a few people publish to those groups, and a couple of people comment on those articles, and the same people are published on the front page every day even if their articles are the worst looking crap on the site.
