The Wonders of Pines

Here in Northern Denmark, where I grew up the pines are many and they come in a myriad of variations. During the last couple of weeks here, I have captured some pictures of the pine trees and pine cones, in ways that I do not usually think about them.

A pine tree is changing its coat, maybe this year it will be ready for Christmas.

A Pine cone is coming about.

Young pine cones are being created, as winter leaves the country, and spring has taken over.

A cone has found a resting spot amongst the scent of the violets.

The leftovers of pine cones, after the animals of the forest have taken their share.

Nice photos, a 10. We take the mature cones and place a little peanut butter on them, tie a piece of yarn on the top and hang them as bird feeders. They attract many different birds and kids love to help make them.

Fantastic, I haven't looked at my pines that way in, well more years that I care to count. Also, I don't think we have such variety here in North Florida, but I could certainly be wrong. Thank you for that beautiful essay.

Thanks for all your comments and compliments. I am pleased to know that you appreciate the beauty of the pine trees and the pine cones as much as I do. Wonderful, I especially love the one with the violets! I have a huge pine in my rfont yard, love it until I have to mow and hit all the dropped cones! :)

I miss the trees of the area I grew up in. They were virgin forest... trees that you could lay against and your arms wouldn't even begin to curve. Thank you for sharing. :-)
