The Grocery Bill - Weekend Question

We spend on average $40.00 a week. For 2 of us. If we could cut out meat and soda, it would be wonderful.

I shop once a week, and I spend between 60 and 100 dollars a week for a family of four including one child in diapers, and one child in night diapers.

I forgot to mention that this amount includes everything from cleaning stuff,toilet paper and shampoo to meat and vegetables. I have noticed that some people do not consider cleaning supplies to be a part of the grocery budget.

I shop about every two weeks and spend about $300.

I do about 80/wk..

We spend about $400 a month, more if my daughter has an outing with the Girl Scouts or school.

What we use to be able to buy and now doesn't compare, sometimes my husband and I go w/o so our daughter has food to reach the end of the month. Groceries has jumped in price every time we go.

I'm single with one cat and shop once a month. I budget $100, which includes any extras I need in the way of paper or cleaning products...that just cuts into the amount of food I buy...approximately $23 worth a week...a little over $3 a day and I usually only eat once daily. I spend $10 a month on food and litter for the cat. I also clip coupons, buy on sale, especially Buy 1/Get 1 Free, and purchase off-brand or "generic". There are a few things I buy name brand because I won't compromise on flavor for them; Heinz ketchup, Gulden's mustard, Hellman's mayo, which are twice the price of their low-end equivalents that just don't taste as good; cutting into the amount of food I'll buy, as well.

I am ashamed to tell you how much we spend on groceries a week. It could pay someones rent for a month. Billy eats like a growing boy of 18 and I shop maybe three times a week spending each time about 60.00 to 80.00. I know this is awful but includes paper products, use many, plates, cups , towels, tissues etc., also pain relievers for arthiritis and Billys' migraines, no junk food at all, lots of meat, not for me but right now he is in a carnivorous mood, mostly beef and it must all be corn
fed because he is a nut about what he eats, so most expensive kind. I myself could eat for about 30.00 a week, load of bread, peanut butter (two weeks) jelly, banana a day, cereal bar, and juice, (every two weeks) and a lean cuisine every night 14.00 a week. Tell me how to cut out feeding someone with a hollow leg. it is becoming a problem to me. I love Rob's budget and the rest of yours. I am going to try to find a way to follow it. I have only had to worry about money for the past seven months since I lost my husband, but realize I will have to get "rid" of the kid, or something, lol, know I can't do that. I pray for help every night perhaps I will win a lottery, but then Iwould have to buy a ticket. I am no help to those of you that know how to budget.

We spend about 60 to $80 per week. A year or two ago the range was more like $40 to $60 per week. This is for a family of four who eats at home most of the week, except for probably about one dinner a week out. We generally buy what we want, but do buy on sale and clip coupons and don't tend to buy expensive meat or seafood often.

i am spending 250.00 every 2 weeks and my freezer is completely full of chicken, pork and beef from the farm. we ran out of the vegs about a month ago from the garden. i am feeding 4 adults and one kid as of today. next week i will have 3 more k8ids. so i will have a house full.

I spend easily about $300 more or less a month on groceries. We shop once a month and do the bulk of shopping then. I might spend an additional $60-80 towards the end of the month when I start running out of things. I feed two adults and a three year old boy. We will stock up at Costco on meat, frozen foods and other items about once every 2-3 months. Included in this amount are diapers, wipies and pet food.
