I think the idea of this is to publish five things about yourself that are not commonly known, then challenge five other people to do the same thing. Gayle was the one who challenged me in her five things article. Here goes my overture. :)
- I am a veteran: six years in the US Air Force, 1973-1979.
- In the 60s, I helped start a commune.
- I have ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder). The flip side of ADD is hyperfocus: getting obsessed with one thing to the point nobody can break you away from it. One of the results: a home website with over 2,100 pages: anitra.net
- The first Poetry Slam I entered, I won $100.
- I am a Raging Granny: this is known by anyone who reads my profile, but not everyone necessarily knows what it means. So here's a link to the Seattle Raging Grannies.
Now the hardest part. Who do I challenge? ummmm...
- Susan Rene: gathermem
- Rico V: ricov
- Carolyn G.: carolyng
- George "Corn Dog" Corneliussen: corneliussen
- the kitchenMage: kitchenmage

very interesting 5....i used to attend some of Seattle's poetry slams and perhaps i even listened to you if you participated at any pre-'98....
Happy Armed Forces Day!
peace,gayle
How did you end up in the Air Force ? From a commune in the 60's to the Air Force in the 70's. It sounds like you had an interesting journey.
You might have seen me at a poetry slam, Gayle. If you went to the 1997 Haiku Slam, you even saw my sweetie Wes.
Wes made an amateur-video of me doing my poem "Mother Escapes" at a house party, that I have posted at http://streetwrites.blogspot.com/2007/03/mother-escapes.html -- it may spark your memory. :)
I am going to try making that a clickable link. If this doesn't work, just copy and paste from above: "Mother Esacpes."
