Here is another May 17th birthday. Faith is our latest birthday girl, and her husband is the birthday boy. Here is her story:
I am married with four step kids living in Houston, Texas.
I am a life coach who works from inside my home with women of an online group called Open Arms Life School for Women.
I write professionally and non professionally; I write self-help articles for my members & clients; also for fun.
My fourth grade teacher, Ms. Cao inspired me to write because I loved her methods of teaching.
My hobbies include: reading, writing, surfing the web, arts & crafts, etc.
My peeves are: lights on in the daytime, wasting energy, sleeping distractions, etc.
The social issues that concern me are political figures & broken promises
My most memorable memory in my life is when my husband proposed to me on my eighteenth birthday. My husband is the first man in my entire life who cares for me and loves me the way he does. He knows how much bad luck I've had in past so-called "relationships" and he knows what it means for me to have something important on my birthday. We were clearly meant for each other; my birthday is on May 17th & his is on May 18th and we both were searching for the same thing in relationships and winded up finding it in one another.
The one thing I have not done yet is to take a romantic getaway to an exotic place.
My husband and I went to the Imax Theatre in New Orleans and saw two movies, then we went into the great malls on the River walk in New Orleans where we ate a romantic dinner of spaghetti, meatballs, garlic bread, pizza, and cake for dessert with cold drinks on the side, then we took pictures in a photo booth with 'I Love You' written on the bottom, then we took a stroll on the River walk looking out at the Mississippi River, then we sat in front of the River walk with the water spout spewing in and out of it when my husband proposed to me out of the blue! I was so shocked; I got all teary and nervous, and said YES! I kissed him and hugged him as we walked down Canal Street into the night on our way home to celebrate our new engagement.
That's what I did when I turned 18!
If I could have any birthday wish come true, I would like to have it all! To have my husband have his record deal, to have my mansion, to help women by spreading my philosophies, and to help my husband spread his word in our own college for African Americans to know their proper history!
