Here's a run down of our happy thursday:
Justin was here to homeschool with us.
I'm having trouble getting Z to zone in on work and concentrate and get it done.
Big sigh from me.
Not sure what to do as usual but I have to figure out something.
He says he can't focus without getting distracted but I'm not sure what to do with that either. Anything and everything we've ever tried for that either natural or prescription has made the problem worse, never better.
I got the car from Brent after lunch and the 3 of us took off to visit my friend Kryistina. They were out farming the back yard and the carport roof gardens today. The boys delighted in helping.
I couldn't believe Z, he worked hard, I mean busting up sod with tools hard. He got to plant seeds and feed bunnies too.
Then he went to K and asked politely if there was anything else she'd like done. He went back several times and asked. I told her aliens had come and taken my kid and replaced him with this one who was politely asking to be put to work. Gosh. That never ever happens at home.
Our friend E shared the joy of her delightful wiggly worm with me(and if you know me you know exactly how I feel about any kind of bug, wiggly or not!)
It is just so much fun to visit and garden!
It was fun taking pictures of them while they worked too!
What a delightful, clear and sparkling, cool and sunny spring day here in Springfield MO.
My dear friend K was inside fixing lunch so she missed her photo op.
sigh.
I'll catch her next time.
Now if I could just figure out how to get Z to work like this at home??
hmmmmm?

thanks for the encouragement, LOL
You mean he won't ever be eager to help here at home?
Home school can be hard, some days he loves learning and dives in and others he just doesn't want to. Maybe that is just being human?
I hate the idea of government school too (which is what public school is)
it was!
Today was another sparkling sunny cool and enchanting spring day.
I am really loving this and not looking forward to summer and sweltering at all!
A lot of the time, "bored" can be fixed with a bit of outdoor time and/or heavy labor. Sometimes when my girls are having troubles, I'll send them outside to dig or something. It usually works unless the problem is that they are tired.
Ya know, I've traded kids with other moms before just so we could get our kids to do what we wanted them to. *grin* It works wonders, seriously! I'd be happy to help any time. I'll boss your kid, you can boss mine... whaddya think?
When can we do it?
:)
But whatever will you do with my crazy unschoolers while I teach yours from the curriculum? *laugh*
you mean I have to be spontaneous and unprepared and go with the flow and just teach in the moment as it comes up???
ARG! :) Smile smile smile We actually do a lot of that here ourselves.
hmmmm......
Or something, you know :P
When is good? :)
I love reading so much and it is so exciting when a 'lightbulb' moment happens with kids!
Seeing that is the best part of homeschooling!
I hope you found the time you needed!
I totally agree!
you worked as hard as they did that day!
