Innovative, selfless and creative Gather member Ernie (the logo maker) Johnson (authorernieroy.gather.com) is the recipient of this week's:
'Spirit of Community' Member Award !
Ernie is the recipient this week for the wealth of assistance he provides to members and Gather Group owners through his creation of group and member logos...many of which he creates for new owners without their need to ask. On Gather, he truly is the Logo King!
In addition to his logo-making activities, Ernie provides support and encouragement to new writers, and publishes an educational series on writing for new and more experienced writers alike. Plus, he sponsors many interesting competitions in his writing challenge groups, and provides innovative awards to participants, fostering fun and educational interaction in the community.
It is contributions and a big-hearted spirit like Ernie's that make Gather such a unique and special community.

About the 'Spirit of Community' Member Award
It takes more than exceptional content to create a vibrant, active community like Gather. It also needs the contributions of members that strengthen the Gather community and foster a welcoming, supportive and positive atmosphere for others.
Community building on Gather can be just as important as the content we publish, and merits acknowledgement, and a little applause from time to time.
Therefore, I identify one Gather member each week who symbolizes these characteristics, and acknowledge their community building efforts through the 'Spirit of Community' Member Award.
Awards are announced each Friday, and will appear as the featured article in the 'Spirit of Community' Member Awards Group.

Ernie also has a wonderful series of articles published, called Destiny's Devas, in the form of a screenplay, which relate to his upcoming published book. If you haven't read them, I will just say they are fantastic!!!

Kevin: This is a wonderful choice. Ernie has tirelessly given himself to two groups of which I am a member: Play On Words and Poetry Play On Words. He has ignited a marvelous strategy of writing by giving us a three letter word with which we can use as a base for our writings. Not only are we increasing our vocabulary bank, but we are gaining in writing skills as well. All of us are learning from one another and at the end of each week, Ernie chooses a 1st and 2nd place winner for each group. That, too, is a challenge we enjoy working toward. He has created a beautiful first place trophy and a lovely ribbon for 2nd place winners. Challenging us more, is his SECRET WORD AWARD. So we have three areas of winning for which to compete.

I am thrilled!
Kevin, Ernie is wELL deserving of this award! He has done a stELLar job of working with us in Play On Words and Poetry-Play On Words. The three little words he gives us each week (like ell) with which to work into short story writings and poetry are helping us tremendously with our vocabulary expansion and development of better writing skills.
He stays on top of things, responds quickly to emails and helps us with anything we need. Thank you, Ernie, for all that you do!
