(quote from Cynopsis)
"Kid Nation stars 40 kids ages 8-15. These kids will spend 40 days living in an abandoned "ghost town," without parents or the modern stuff they are used to, where they will try to build their own functioning society."
Can you say Lord of the Flies? First of all, what parent would let their 8 year old live in a ghost town for 40 days without them? I know the production company will have to have social workers and teachers on hand (I assume, just because it's a reality show they aren't exempt from the law) but 40 days? On a reality show? Knowing how reality shows exploit the contestants in hopes of creating tension and trouble to make the show more interesting?
Second - do we really want to watch a group of 40 kids squabbling about how to work together? I assume it's not all going to be sunshine and roses.
Reality TV really has gone too far.
