The problem with Melinda is that she doesn't have a distinct style. If I was a record exec, I'd be nervous about signing her because she has a more old-fashioned style that isn't very applicable to today's overmarketed pop industry.
I'm certainly not saying that she's not talented...but "packaging" her isn't quite as easy as it will be for Blake and Jordin.
Again, I agree with Laura. Melinda is a fabulous singer, but let's be honest. Great vocal talent is not necessarily what sells records in America. If she had won AI, who would be the market for her album? Teens who actually buy records probably wouldn't buy her album. 30-somethings like me download a song here and there but don't purchase whole albums. She would be a hard sell, great pipes or not. Since she won't win, though, she won't have that enourmous pressure to sell more albums than Kelly or Carrie, but she will get a record deal, I'm certain of that!

I'm voting for Jordin, she's young and beautiful and has a lot of support and I believe she will do well.
