Favorite Movie Scene

The Abyss - when Ed Harris' character has descended to the deep and he is texting back and forth to his estranged wife in the habitat. "Love you Wife" It's such a beautifully touching moment.

The scene in "Excalibur" when Arthur gives up his sword to be knighted, so that he could made King, even though the Knight to whom he gave the sword could have just as easily killed him with it.

Mine is from Love Actually, but it is not really a scene in the movie. It is during the opening credits when it shows real people filmed at Heathrow Airport in London greeting each other with hugs and kisses.

The Hugh Grant voice over says "Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."

It makes me cry every time. I LOVE that movie.

Steel Magnolias....the cemetery scene, where Sally Field's character, tough as nails, finally breaks... talk about making you cry!!

Build it, they will come---from field of dreams. Just love that film, love its message

The Usual Suspects at the end where Special Agent David Kujan realizes that Verbal Kint is actually Keyser Soze. I never saw it coming.

Mine is (always) from Pulp Fiction - but I can't repeat the scene or else your article would be flagged - It is when Marcellus says, "I'm pretty.......far from okay...." etc....what a robust statement!

I am becoming donvinced that I have a serious personality disorder. My favorite movie scene is from Cars, When Lightning discovers the true identity of Hudson Hornet.

With "Real" Characters, I think my favorite is in Waiting for the Light When they pull off the second, deliberate appearance.
