Is that the sound of royal trumpets ushering in the new Gather Kitty royalty? I do believe so. The first Gather kitty contest winners have been crowned but first a message from our sponsor Merlin, owner of the group, Friends of Merlin.

I’m bushy tailed with excitement to reveal the winners. Purrs of thanks to the contestants who are all winners in my book. Thank-you to all the voters who helped make this a reality and huge thanks for being my friend. My sibling Coco and I invite you to join, if you are not already a member of my group. It’s the first and only Gather group owned by a cat (although copycats are inevitable).
Layla has created special coronation photos and photo montages. She is the Queen of doing “before and after’ photo make-overs at her group, Your Favorite Pics. Additional photos and photo montages of the winners will be posted all week.
It is my great honor and privilege to present the Gather Kitty Royal Court.
His Royal Highness King CuJo of Gather
This king-sized orange tabby came from humble beginnings to garner the top honor. This is his message.
Thank-you Layla for making this possible. Thank-you to the voters who supported and voted for me. And to all the contestants who are all royalty. Lastly, I would like to thank all the owners (sic) who have opened their homes and their hearts so we could make them our castles. Remember, there are more beautiful cats and dogs in need of love and homes. Please check out your local shelter.
Yours,
King CuJo
May I present her majesty, Queen Sophia of Gather

Her Royal Highness is a virgin Queen originally from a shelter. Hers is a Horatio Alger story that proves that with hard work and determination all things are possible.
May I present her Royal Highness Princess Opal of Gather

This sweet and saucy kitty captured the hearts of the voters, winning by a landslide. She has this to say, “I’m very gratified to win this title. It was my due, of course, but humans sometimes make stupid decisions. Sometimes being the most wonderful cat in the known universe is a burden but at times like this it is a joy. I’d like some cheese to go with my Devoncream… now."
Last but certainly not least, it’s an honor to present his Royal Highness of Gather Prince fruffleButt AKA Prince Dargo.
Our prince is of meager beginnings. His homeless mother was dumped at the end of a country road. Luckily, good people took him in who helped realize his full potential. His message to all is, “Follow your dream.”
Congratulations of all the winners. May they enjoy their reign which lasts for one year. I hope to see their parents post more pics and stories about them. I also welcome more pet pics and stories from all members.

Your Favorite pics.
Congratulations to every cat who participated! This is the most fun contest on Gather thus far. I LOVED seeing all the kitty photos and hearing their stories! Everyone please feel free to post to my Gather group, Cute Things Cats Do. Special congratulations to the new Queen, King, Prince and Princess.
now, all the kitty winners are saying:
OK, I worked and posed for you. I won. Now give me my Fancy Feast, My Meow Mix, My 9 Lives, my Baby Food, my special treats.
Do it or you're doomed to be my slave forever. Well, you're doomed, anyway.
But if you give me what I want, I'll do something special for you? I'll purr. And won't request anything, I promise.
Not ever. Not for 5 minutes.

I also have to thank Justin for letting me make use of his kittens for the event.
This was a great contest. I think Merlin should be in charge of all the Gather contests.
It was a fair and honest election, Jennifer. The betrayer resides in our own household...not uncommon among royalty. Cujo needs to watch his back.
Long live the Royal Family!
To show my duty in your coronations,
Yet now, I must confess, that duty done,
I bow to your gracious leave and pardon."

Cool Idea!
