It's all over the news.
Yahoo!'s 2002 episode of getting all cozy with China's repressive regime, thanks to their agreement to respect the comunist country's widly contested Public Pledge on Self-Discipline for the Chinese Internet Industry, lead to the detention and brutal torture of Chinese journalists and human rights advocates, residing in China.
Otherwise innocent Chinese citizens like Wang Xiaoning never got a warning from Yahoo! They had to deal with China's most vicious censorship disciples in our modern times. And it's all because of good'ol Yahoo!'s lack of judgement, common sense and honor.
Four years later, a major lawsuit has been filed by Human Rights USA against Yahoo! and it clearly highlights the internet company's complicity in human rights abuses in China.
But wait, that's not all, you're a target too!
Anybody, in the "Western World", suspected by the communist regime to work at a company that poses a competitive threat to any Chinese company can have all Yahoo! hosted data discreetly delivered to China's authorities without ever being told about it.
Yahoo! has therefore become a major, major security -and privacy- hole for us, living under the democratic rule of law, not some arbitrary and savage communist regime using torture, brutality and abject intimidation tactics to make sure nobody contradicts the central power.
So, when will -you- be searching Yahoo! next?
