       What a difference a week makes. These pics were taken last week, when the blossoms were at their peak.  The pink quickly faded to white and then dusted the ground with blossom snow. In their place were tender green leaves.

This,I suppose was nature's fair exchange but fileId:3096224744113853;size:full;the magic show was over for another year.

And maybe by next year on Gather we'll be able to post more stable and creatively formatted photo blogs ;-)

How breathtaking! I love cherry blossoms and I'm using one of your photos as my new wallpaper! Don't see too many of them in Atlanta, spring last for about a week here, then you go straight into summer! Thanks for sharing!

Have you tried Photobucket.com or Slide.com to host your photos? I don't know if Gather would support it on their site, but that'd be a way to do a photo blog. Just a thought!

Really beautiful Layla. I wish the Spring flowers and blooming trees lasted just a little longer. We wait and wait, they're here and before we know it they are gone. I guess that's why we take so many pictures of the beauty. Thanks.

So gorgeous! I wish we had cherry blossoms down here in Florida. Eventhough they doesn't last very long, at least you get to experience them!

It doesn't seem to get cold enough here in Northern California to make this kind of show with the cherry trees... A friend of mine has an old, old "ornamental" cherry tree that has "triple petaled" blossoms, though, and -- even tho' it's not in the best of shape -- there's something about those frilly, bright pink flowers that just takes my breath away...

Plum blossoms are my personal favorite, and I love the fruit from those trees especially. They're excellent feng shui for people who have health concerns.
