When we think of summer we think of lazy days at the beach, family barbeques and of course…blockbuster movies! It's that time of year when we expect Hollywood to dazzle and amaze us with the cream of the crop of cinematic features. Last weekend "Spider Man 3" opened to a record number of theaters and had the highest opening box office gross of all time. There's no telling what other records might be broken with the upcoming movies that will be released this summer. Even if no other major records are set, we will certainly be entertained. Just a sample of the most anticipated movies this summer include:
| Shrek the Third | Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End |
| Rush Hour 3 | Ocean's Thirteen |
| A Mighty Heart | 28 Weeks Later |
| Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix | Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer |

It's my pick for a FIRST DAY of release attendance. The other one I would see is Fantastic Four-- the rest of them -- too many sequels.
1. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
2. Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End
3. Rise of the Silver Surfer
4. Nancy Drew (me and my daughter)
5. Transformers (husband and son)
4. Shrek 3
Overall, it looks like a good summer for fun films!
Slightly curious to see Michael Moore's new movie, Sicko, about the health industry.
Come on. It's rush hour three!
You have to see it!
Bring on the popcorn! :)

These books have been really important to his whole generation -- and the movies are always discussed and anticipated (and sometimes a little dreaded -- how are they going to fit an even bigger volume into a 90 minute movie?) in our household -- by adult and kid.
For myself, I can't wait to see Pirates of the Caribbean.
I thought when the movies started coming out she wouldn't want to read the books anymore. I thought that a large, magical part of her childhood would disappear into a large movie screen. I was wrong.
My daughter and I have gone to the premier midnight showing of every Harry Potter movie...and it has only added to the wonderful memories of my only child's childhood.
Beth is nearly 19 now and when I told her I had pre-ordered the final Harry Potter book for her, she got that same old twinkle in her eye and a big beautiful smile was my reward. Then she said:
"Did you pre-order tickets to the midnight showing of "The Order of The Phoenix?"
So you can bet your magic wands my daughter and I will be at the next Harry Potter movie; my daughter with a twinkle in her eye and me hanging on to the last bit of her childhood magic.
(Keith Richards is going to play Captain Jack's Father)
Buuuut, I really like being pleasantly distracted- so out of those previously mentioned its gotta be Harry Potter! I mean things are really getting serious in that storyline! Harry Potter vs Voldemort? Sign me up! But i quite enjoyed the earlier movies in the Oceans and Pirates franchises too. So i'll most definitely check them out!
Of course, once that's over, I'll be waiting anxiously for HP 5...
Pirates seems to be the best one coming out. Depp has done good with the team playing in this set of shows. A good cast and crews have made the first two really fun to watch!
The whole of the Rush Hour series that have been out are completely boring.
Harry Potter I can wait till it comes out on DVD, so no biggy there.
Piratres is much better seen on the screne.
First, because I have seen the first two with my fiancee and it has become a joke between us. when they started running the adds for it that I had seen the first two with him and I told him that we were starting to have a history together and that was new for me, to have a history with someone. We thought that it was very funny that I could evaluate a relationship based on what movies we have seen together.
Second, because it was filmed near my home and he and I spent a whole day down at the dunes watching and hoping that Johnny Depp would come over and say hi. He did and was very gracious. I don't think that I was able to say much, but my wonderful fiancee told him that I used to keep a poster of him on my ceiling above my bed when he was on 21 Jumpstreet. (Mental note: Don't share embarassing stories anymore!) Depp laughed and said that he hoped that I didn't still have it up there! He gave us a feather from the costume that he had on and now it has a home on our dresser, minus the poster of course!
I enjoy watching his films and I think that his choices in films and roles has always been unique and interesting.
I have always loved books and many times a movie version ruins the images you have in your head from the book but I think they did an amazing job capturing the feel of the books when they made the movies. When I first saw Hagrid, Dumbledore, and Diagon Alley they were just what I had imagined. I can't wait to see the next one.
Spiderman 3 wasn't all that great, I was disappointed.
I also can't wait to see POTC, oh Johnny....yaya
I'm kind of in a three-way tie between Harry Potter, Pirates, and Shrek! Evan Almighty also looks funny, as does the Simpsons Movie. And I'm looking forward to finally getting out to see Spiderman (I'm working 7 days a week, who has time to go to the movies?).
