One of my 101 goals is to spend more time visiting local sights. Why live in such a beautiful and exciting city if we're not going to enjoy it, right?
Today we visited the State museum of PA. It's a very nice small museum, located right next to the Capitol building. The four floors cover geology, wildlife, PA history and a large section on the PA charter. We had a grand time exploring the exhibits. Best of all, it's free to visit!
We had dinner at Ceolta's Irish pub on 2nd street. The food was excellent! Kith enjoyed the whiskey chicken - he said that it was a bit dry but the sauce more than made up for it and the steamed veggies were perfect. I had one of their specials - chicken curry over fries. It was a huge bowl of sweet chicken curry with a good hit of spice and a ton of fries on top! The prices were quite reasonable, especially for downtown - $30 for the both of us, without drinks. The atmosphere reminded me of the pubs I visited in London, a nice trip down memory lane.
