What is the best way to make points?  I love  Gather as a place to read articles and meet new people but I would like to earn points too.  Also when I read articles and post do they get points or do  I have to rate it before they get them? Because I sometimes forget to rate.

Points are an unknown thing around here. Per what is stated by Gather, you get points for posting articles, commenting, connecting, creating active groups. Beyond that, I couldn't tell you.

Honestly, don't worry about the points as they do come. Just do what you want to do and are comfortable in doing. The more you are here having fun, the faster those points will come in. Have fun and earn those points.

You get I think 1/2 point to leave comments . You also get points for submitting articles, you get points for joining groups, you get points for starting groups, you get points for adding new connections(people) to your list., etc, etc.

I gotta agree 100% with Sara.... if you worry bout the points you earn or don't earn then you will lose the spontaneous fun of Gather as a whole. Just do what you like, read, look, write, comment and the points will come. The more you do of all that, the more points and the faster you will get them.

I'd say the best way to make points is to make articles that attract lots of comments - that way, everyone wins. (For example, chain games seem to be pretty good point earners...)

I only wrote occasionally and left a few comments. Then I started a group and got so involved in it that I was writing and leaving comments all the time. This is when mine started jumping.
