Today began as usual, I listened to the radio with half an ear while I repeatedly hit the snooze button. I listen to the Steve Harvey Morning Show and he opens each day with a prayer meditation and a gospel song. It gets my day started right.
Anyway, as the hour went on and I slowly shook off my sleep. He began an interview with Bishop T.D. Jakes, who was promoting his new book, Reposition Yourself;Living Life Without Limits. The interview consisted of Mr. Harvey singing Bishop Jakes praises and that of the book.
It's a self-help tome which encourages readers to seize the day, live their best life now, or fulfill their purpose. Choose your own catch phrase.
I'm not a fan of Bishop Jakes. His picture features too prominently on the cover of his books. However, during the course of the interview, he did say something which caused me to perk up and finally swing my legs over the side of the bed. He said, "Success is intentional....If you don't plan for it, it won't happen."
He reminded me that I'm choosing success everyday. He reminded me that I have a plan, even though its unfolding is proving slow, and alternately a happy or painful circumstance. He reminded me to be glad that I'm not sitting in the wait station of life, but that I am enroute and planning the next trip.
