Presented an Editorial from AWFSM
Not to downplay the great journalistic endeavors from all our most zealous writers; or our thoughtful mesmerizing poets in streams of consciousness portrayed; nor to underestimate the bottomless contributions of all our profound professors, and grand mental meanderings of our thought provoking philosophers; nor to forget all our neo classical and avant guard lofty artists, and superb melodious and bountiful musicians; then to add every giant philanthropist in-between; STILL, even these in all their magnificent mystic and stature simply cannot educate the masses.
As difficult as that may sound and as hard as each has tried, the fact remains ... You cannot educate the masses.
There really is not any solution to impart, nor judgment to indict, which can perform such a monolithic task. We simply cannot educate the masses. Our own world history has proven that again and again. There will always be the masses that do what the masses do; irregardless of the educational attempts to instill, alleviate, or elevate their social structures.
It does however sound like a high minded exercise in the attempt thereof. It even stirs controversy and conspiracy factors from the left and the right, from the religious to the political. But, still the masses will not be educated by all our pomp and circumstance. They even seem to smirk at the subtle clues provided for them, glibly sliding around any modifications presented for a mind shift or any summaries presented to uplift their present states of being.
The general masses of whom I speak are only doing their thing after all. It is not their fault if they don't care about some of of the 'things' we are trying to push upon them. In reality they don't even feel pushed. Because the masses literally do not hear what we hear, nor do they see what we see. More than likely the general masses just plain don't care what others care about. Their interests lie elsewhere. And, so it should. The simple reason being we are all just a step away from our proverbial ancestors who are still swinging from the trees.
So the general masses will keep massing and will continue to find more adventures to congregate around. With football games, basketball games, hockey, and soccer games, horse racing, car racing, video games, gambling, lottos, fight clubs, night clubs, voyeuristic tube viewing & entertaining narcissistic body watching, candle parties, makeup parties, decorating parties, get rich seminars, self help seminars, after work liaisons, before work liaisons, extravagant eating, shopping, drinking (and we are not taking about water here), pill popping and dispensing; plus the many more hair raising activities to fill all the insatiable appetites and social delights that tease the soul into spending endless hours in the pursuit of love, happiness, and the pursuit of money; the masses will forever group together in masses to support each other. Hence, the masses. Might makes right; and they do not want it any other way. Because if they really did, it would change.
So enough with all the serendipity platitudes. Enough with all the plethora of inspirational quotes and jargons of the do-gooders. Enough with all the pan handling soporific help that falls upon deaf ears and unseeing eyes. Enough bulling badgering attempts to make them hear or see. It simply can't be done. There is no aid where no aid is required.
It all goes back to the old saying ... "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear." But I don't think we have many students around who even care to be a student anymore; little less a student interested in seeing and hearing. Especially a student of the spirit, the universe, or a student of the creator. And, besides all that, there is plenty more out there for the masses already that is changing daily for their disinterested lethargic appeal.
This editorial is in behalf of myself explicitly, since I haven fallen out of the illusion that I can participate in the further attempt to 'educate the masses'. It will instead be just as it was with me.
When I was ready to hear; I heard. I heard what I was ready to hear. When I was ready to learn; I learned. I learned what I was ready to learn. When I was ready to see; I saw. I saw what I was ready to see. When I was ready to believe; I believed. And, it too was what I was ready to believe.
When I was tired of lies and wanted the truth in my life; it was when I was ready to have the lies revealed and the truth that I thought was truth - replaced. Only then to find out, as I have now; that even this exchange is an ever ongoing educational exchange - just for me.
I am still part of the masses. I always will be a part of the masses. I am one in the masses and one out of all the many in the masses, and my dear friends, will always be just that.
So --- as I am ready, what ever is really needed - is - ready for me likewise. Selah.

I saw great truths withIN all of that, but the perspective seemed to be decidedly "Christian" and very "Anti-" everything else, especially the "New Age" ... what say you ?
I do not contend with either or any. Since we will all levitate to our own level of being at any particular point in time.
... what say you?
There are 'relative' truths everywhere and what one may find to be 'their' truth one day may well turn out to be the opposite the next day.
I look forward to reading more of your material, I have bookmarked AWFSM for future reference. Thanks, j.
Consistency of terms and perspective would, I think, provide more insight into this often disappointing apparent intransigence of the "multitudes".
People do learn and change, but there is the illusion that somehow there is no general change in some respects. I believe the reality is something like a forest moving. They do move, but at no point can that movement be seen with our very limited vision. Each individual tree grows and matures and dies, and moves little in a spacial sense. But very slowly, the forest (or "masses" if you will), is relocated. If one could watch a hyper duration time laps photography sequence, one would see forests proceed to swell and drift in and out of geographic locations as changes in climate and ecological factors permitted.
We are like individual trees though, and we ourselves watch from a fixed perspective over a very short span of time. From our point of view the forest thrives, perseveres, or withers slowly, for we cannot witness from a perspective other than our own location within that forest. We do not see the forest move, but rather the trees in our immediate vicinity sprouting, growing, and dying. But the forest, the conceptual congregate of individual trees, does in fact move.
Of course, in a sense there is no actual thing we are referring to when we say 'forest', as there is no actual thing called 'masses'. Individual trees or people do grow or learn, but the "forest" around us is always full of "trees" in various states of development. And as the "wiser" old trees pass away, they are replaced by young foolish trees. Hence, we don't sense the movement of the "forest", but a sometimes frustrating repetition of development in a few generations of individuals.
One very important, to me, consideration in your treatment of this frustrating repetition, is glossed over I think. In the 'forest' metaphor, one could think of it as disease. The many distractions and frivolous pursuits which stifle healthy growth in individuals do not just happen. Real live human beings intentionally introduce these wasteful things for their own selfish reasons. I believe what you're really saying is that the forces generated by selfish members of society, work against the more altruistic ones in a way that prevents the individual "trees" from growing strong and fruitful. It is the health of the "forest" (or masses) which is being stifled in a relentless way, causing a form of stagnation which is extremely difficult, if not impossible, for individuals who are concerned for the forest to overcome.
So yes, we as individuals cannot really hope to effect the "masses" in a significant way. But we can rest assured that our best efforts support the health of the "forest" around us, and in this sense, we can resist the "disease" to some extent. But no, it is not within our power to overcome the disease. It will win the war inevitably, for the tree that is human is but a temporary form, I think. Placed here to learn the lesson of the pointlessness of indulging our selfishness. Those that do will taste the bitter fruit of their foolish disregard for the "forest" they callously exploit. This is not a happy story we are acting out, it is a tragedy, for our long term "education".
Our "job" is to learn to overcome our selfish potential nature. That means not yielding ground, regardless of what excuses may present themselves. As each soldier in an army must do what they can, regardless of the danger around them, even to the point of death, or the army will be defeated; we must do what is right for those we touch, regardless of the level of disease in our neck of the woods.
There is no real "waste" at all, I believe. Each act of kindness and concern will stay with us forever. This is not the tragic end, but the dramatic beginning, of an incorruptible (wise) race of freely altruistic beings. We will KNOW the consequences of failing to love one another, and the pain of not being loved.
God don't do things half way. He ain't raising vegetables.
Me thinks.
Also, you went from trees, to forest, to old trees, to young trees, too soldiers in an army, too altruistic beings, too God & vegetables ???
And, you think the word 'masses' is inappropriate ... go figure ... ?!?
me thinks ... we all are missing a bolt ...
Yes, that metaphor stuff can be hard for some to follow, I had made a rash assumption when I saw your user-name.
Excuse me, it won't happen again.
Of course, if large numbers could come to see the duty that accompanies the miraculous gift of existence, and quit with the "I'm a lone operator" nonsense, we would indeed have a fair shot at giving the diseased state a break for long enough to reveal the vast advantages of behaving in concert. But few even realize they are in a diseased state, and fewer still can comprehend the depth of that duty.
Peace dude.
we are all changing every moment ... as well as all nature & the universe in general ...
although there is nothing general about it ... :)
every atom, molecule, to what ever degree are vibrating at dizzying velocities ... changing, moving, expanding, contracting etc ...
that means you & me too! we are one ... we are the whole ... we are the universe ...
