Step 4 ~ Paint Outlines of the Pansies Faces
I went out on my deck this evening while there was still good light and, using fabric brush markers, I outlined the pansies faces and leaves; the pencil drawing served as a general guide.
Photo F: Two Colors Used, Part 1
It doesn't matter what the two colors are (I don't use black for this step), they will eventually be covered either by paint or the black outlines of the finished painting.
Photo G: Two Colors Used, Part 2
After I am sure that the lines are dry (tomorrow, most likely) I will use a pink art eraser to remove most of the underlying pencil lines.
Photo H: Third Color Applied, Part 1
These are the lines of the stained-glass background.
Photo I: Third Color Applied, Part 2
I use a Marveyâ Fabric Brush Marker for all the lines, even the black outlines that will be used on the finished painting.
Photo J: Sides Must Wait
I will wait until tomorrow, when I am sure the front is totally dry, before I draw the extension of the foreground and background lines onto the sides of the canvas.
I hope you will watch for future articles showing the next steps in the process of an idea become a real painting.
