The Bird (at least one) came by to collect his due.

I am happy to inform you that at least one bird has come by my place to sample the strawberries, and ate two of them. I am sure that Marilyn S. should be pleased, as I am. He wasn't greedy, though, and left all the rest alone, for which I am thankful. There were plenty of ripe ones left, and yes, they were very sweet! (see other picture)

The way I see it, it's a good way to get the birds to pay me a visit. It doesn't hurt my feelings that they aren't coming to see ME!

Gerald - I can understand that you are a person who loves nature and you are lucky to have " my friends" the birds coming to you. Although you said they do not come to see you, they still come because of what you share with them.

Not really sure, Charity. I just give them plenty of water, make sure they're in the sun all day, talk to them, make sure the new, growing strawberries aren't lying in the dirt (I hang them over the side of the pot, if they'll reach), and just let them do their thing. They crank out strawberries like crazy all summer long, from April til November. They are, I guess, "French Strawberries", and are small and sweet. I wish you could taste them!
