I'm quitting my second job.... oh yaaaaaaa!

I just gave notice at Mervyn's (my 2nd. job.)  I was getting to the point where I dreaded going there to work!  I think working 2 jobs was one of the main reasons I got sick with severe Iron deficiency Anemia.  I am still on the road to recovery from that.... (that's another story in itself)  As of May 22, 2007  I am going to be only working at the School District (my main job)!  Yeah!!!!  And we are out for summer break on June 8th..... A summer completely off!  I'm looking forward to that! Oh ya!  Going to take lots of photos (like I haven't been already LOL)   I am going to miss my Mervyn's discount though!

Oh my God, I loved Mervyns, one of the things, I miss most about California, anyway, wishing you a speedy recovery. Sometimes more than one job can be unhealthy. I'm glad you made the decision to leave.

Two jobs? That's incredible. I am always amazed at people that can pull it off. I bet it's very hard on your body over the long run though. Rest up. Anemia is nothing to mess around with. I can't wait to see all your photos.

I am with ya gf! Well, in the respect that I know the feeling and relief of knowing that the summer will be all mine. I graduate on Mothers Day with my associates. Been going to school non stop no break for two years....only got Xmas break once. I cannot wait!!!!!!!!!!!!

Woo-hoo! Just try to focus on getting better and enjoying time off for the summer. I know the feeling of missing a discount.I really am missing my discount at the craft store I worked at before my daughter was born. Not to mention the first dibs on clearance sale items as well. :/

Congratulations! And I'm so jealous about your summer off. I still dream of such a life - wanted to be a teacher, but in the early eighties, the jobs were scarce, so I went into engineering, which, sadly, gives me a short five weeks off (accrued vacation after 25 years of working in one place.) Never is enough for the WHOLE year!! LOL. Looking forward to more great photos of your flowers, Trudy. ;o)

Don't feel too bad! I am also anemic and have to take 81 mg of Iron every night. I haven't taken it for close to a month now, and I am feeling okay. Of course, I had to give up donating blood. :( Take care of yourself and get better. Sometimes working more than one job can be bad for you, especially ifyou dread going in. That is why I have gone through so many jobs in my lifetime. And I am on 39 going on 40!

Yay, Trudy! I "quit" my fulltime job in 1996, well, I was "downsized" after working at the same job for 20 years. Now, my hubby and I work in campgrounds 9-10 months of the year and goof off the other 2-3 months each year. It takes some penny pinching and some budget planning to pull it off, but we are so much less stressed out than when we worked for big corporations.

Side note: I worked at Mervyn's a few years ago in Washington State. I wasn't there long because the weather just made the hour drive impossible sometimes, but it was a good company to work for.
