Some forecasters and climatologists are risking thier careers and livelihoods by challenging the current religious edict that man is causing the current warming climate change.
A top hurricane forecaster called Al Gore "a gross alarmist" Friday for making an Oscar-winning documentary about global warming."He's one of these guys that preaches the end of the world type of things. I think he's doing a great disservice and he doesn't know what he's talking about," Dr. William Gray said in an interview with The Associated Press at the National Hurricane Conference in New Orleans, where he delivered the closing speech.
More and more people are shedding their fear or ridicule and are calling Gore and his cronies out. We're helped by a healthy dose of hypocrisy by those who call for change, yet consume 10-20 times more than an everage family, ala Gore, Crow, the British Royal Family, etc.

Alarmist isn't the word I'd use for the rest. You know Snake Oil salesmen were successful too.
Evidence shows we're still emerging from the Little Ice Age, yet it was 3 degrees warmer in the 1300s than it was today.
My first statement was, "One thing I've noticed is that the current generation forgets the groundwork laid by the previous generations before us. We assume that what is has always been so."
I also went on to lay out that modern corrections in Florida is owed to he relentless reforming that he began in 1947, really picked up in 1962 and continues to this day.
His insight still carries weight today.
Likewise, I can imagine this gentleman in the same boat. And our generation could stand to learn from him. Just because he's old doesn't mean what he has to say can be easily brushed off.
The truth is, he's probably forgotten more than the new generation will ever learn.
We didn't care enough to take care of you , we need money and possessions more.

I hear you brother, but hey, it doesn't hurt me any, and yes, you are free to be as insulted by the invitation as you wish to be, it's your dime. Consider yourself uninvited though, if it makes you feel better. lol
Not even Exxon is funding these organizations anymore.

Karl: "How much co 2 was in the atmosphere when the carbon in the crude oil was "trapped" in the deposits."
I don't know. Do you have a source for that?
Karl: "How much of that carbon have we returned to the atmosphere?"
I don't know, but CO2 in the atmosphere presently is 380 ppm, and scientists are hoping we will not go beyond 450 ppm. I don't know the specifics of the questions you are asking, but your point is well taken - that we are not only emitting a "normal" amount of CO2, but also CO2 that nature "sequestered" millions of years ago. Thom Hartmann makes this case in his book, "Last Hours of Ancient Sunlight."
I'm glad to see people standing up to him, as I am pleased at the push for a real, cleaner energy source. People like Gore are a "neccessary evil," though I don't mean that he's evil. It's not like we can just "silence them," as they seek to do to their opponents.
"The debate is over." NO, IT'S NOT.
