This is still on schedule to be completed in the Summer of 2007. It’s the largest in the world, and the United States doesn’t have the financial resources to build one and the Scientists in the US will need to be scheduled to use the Particle Accelerator and be in line just as anyone else.
The CERN Accelerator will use the electricity of a 300,000 population city just to run a test and one will need to wait three to four months just to see the results of a test because of the exposure of the radiation that will be created in the test.
The planning has been over twenty years for this and the construction began in 1999.

Alsao, we see the data immediately when they are taken (call online data monitoring) and have strict protocols to make sure that we know the data we are taking are useful and correct to the best of our knowledge on an up-to-the-minute basis.
I am also not sure about that number for the power consumption. References?
