Update... a message from Merlin the cat.
Thanks to everyone who has posted pics of their fabulous felines to my group, Friends of Merlin. Does anyone want to adopt me? My mom Layla is driving me crazy. She is making me look at all these kitty pics and making me choose. Do you know how hard that is? No wonder the judges on American Idol have hissy fits. My sister Coco is drooling over some of these sexy beasts making me feel like chopped liver. Anyway, there were so many cute kitten pics we decided to add another category for the "Kings and Queens" in the making. Prince and Princess.
So listen up friends... here's the deal with voting on the contest.
On this Sunday, May 6, I will post an article that will feature the photos and descriptions of the finalists.
There are three in each of the categories; King, Queen, Prince and Princess. My work at that point will be done. Neither Layla, Coco nor I will be voting for the final four winners.
Don't hiss at me if you didn't make the cut. Life isn't fair. Layla tried fixing up the photos to their best advantage but some were too pixelated or unclear. Sorry. We tried our best to choose kitties that embody the qualities of feline royalty, that certain je ne sais quoi. The hardest part was having way more 'Queens' than Kings to select from. I'm still torn up that I had to say no to some really special gals.
VOTING
Each finalist will be assigned a number ie; K 3 (the third King)
You will vote by leaving your selections ie; K1,Q2 P3, in the comment box. You can vote for the article but it will have no bearing on the final outcome. We want to avoid the driveby 1 issues that other contests have suffered from. To keep voting fair and ethical, I've decided that everyone can vote but only once per category,per person, per day. In other words everyone can vote once a day in all four categoties for each of the seven days. Votes will be tallied every day of the seven days and posted in an article titled, Daily Voting Tally which will be updated daily. You do not have to vote for each category. You may also leave comments of your choosingas many times as you like, showing good sportsmanship we hope! Please don't spam your network with requests to vote for your kitty.
The voting period is May 6th to Midnight May 12th. Votes will be tallied for the final count and the winners announced on Monday May 14th in an article. A photo montage of the winners will also be widely posted on that day. The winners will receive one free photo make-over montage of any three photos of theirs or their fur parent's. The winners are free to publicize their new status, posting their photos and articles about them to whatever groups they belong to. Their Royal "reign" lasts one year.
